Australia and World War One By August 1914 the worlds major powers were committed to World War

One. People who lived through this war called it the war to end all wars because it had a tragic and dramatic impact on both soldiers and civilians. Australia as a nation was deeply changed and affected by its participation in the war and traditions such as ANZAC day live on today because of World War One.
