-Diversin y Juegos FABRICACIN de LIBROS**Puede hacer un libro acordin simple. Tome una tira larga de papel, 21 X 3 y dblelo estilo acordin. Para hacer las cubiertas de libro, corte cuadros de 3 X 3 usando tarjetas y pgelas a los extremos de la tira. Los nios le pueden dictar sus historias, escribir o dibujar en las pginas INVENTE CUENTOS***Use una hoja larga de papel azul o verde como fondo. Pegue una tira de papel blanco a lo largo del papel. Recorte fotografias de gente, animales, y paisajes. Busque fotos con accin. Deje que cada nio pegue una foto sobre el papel. Luego hable con los nios sobre lo que est sucediendo en la escena que ellos han creado. Escriba su historia en las tiras blancas. FOMENTE EL HABITO DE LA LECTURA EN CASA. Puede animar a los padres a que lean a sus nios en el hogar. Ejemplo: Enve crculos de papel en blanco con cada nio. La repeticin hace a un libro predecible y a los nios les gusta decir en voz alta las palabras. El libro Oso Pardo, Oso Pardo, que ves ahi? es un libro excelente para sto. Una vez que los nios se familiaricen con la historia, el lector puede dar vuelta a la pgina para demostrar el siguiente animal y detenerse brevemente dejando a los nios decir cul es. Esto les dar poder y los animara a pretender leer, que es la base para la lectura verdadera. Otro libro con un patrn
similar en este kit es Salta, Ranita, Salta, la frase Salta, Ranita, Salta, es la respuesta a cada pregunta. Deje a los nios decirla en voz alta. Despus de la historia, dejelos pretender que son ranas. Deje que se agachen en el piso y brinquen hacia adelante, levantando sus brazos arriba en el aire antes de volver a la posicin de cunclillas. Pida que salten rpidamente, den saltos grandes, que den un cierto nmero de saltos, saltar lentamente, y dar saltos pequeos.

Read Me a Story

Welcome to the Spanish Theme Kit., Read Me a Story. Our target age group is 2 to 5 year olds but we have included at least one board book for babies to use. All these books read aloud well, and there are activities, finger plays, and teacher guides to help you. Also, take a look at the general information sheet on the inside cover of this notebook. ENJOY!

RELATED ACTIVITIES
-Fun and GamesFABRICACIN de LIBROS* Making Books** You can make a simple accordion book. Take one long strip of paper, 21 X 3 and fold it accordion-style. To make the book covers, Cut 3 X 3 squares from old greeting cards and glue them to the ends of the strip. Children can dictate their stories to you or write or draw their own on the folded pages. INVENTE CUENTOS Make Up Stories*** Use a long sheet of blue or green paper as a background. Tape a strip of white paper near the bottom of the whole length. Cut out magazine pictures of people, animals, and scenery. Try to find active pictures. Let each child tape a picture onto the paper. Then talk with the children about what is happening in the scene they have created. Write their story on the white strips. FOMENTE EL HABITO DE LA LECTURA EN CASA. Encourage Home Reading *** You can encourage parents to read to their children at home. Example: Send home white paper circles with each child. Parents read to the child, write the title on a snowball and send it back to you. Make a snow man from all the snowballs. Have a party when the snowman is finished. TAPETE MUSICAL Musical Rug You can play this with the CD included in this kit, or with any music you have on hand. Place a rug on the floor, start the music and have the children walk in a circle, each one stepping on the rug as they go by. When the music stops, whoever is on the rug gets to operate the tape player for the next turn. This is just like musical chairs, but with small children it can avoid collisions and falling chairs! LEA A LOS PADRES Read To Parents *** Once a week or once a month or so, invite parents to come in a little early at the beginning or at the end of the day, whichever works best for your schedule. Let them bring the childrens siblings if they want to. Lead everyone in a song and then read a story to the whole group. Choose one that everyone can enjoy. This is an activity that brings the entire family together.

LOS NIOS PUEDEN COLABORAR Children Can Join In

Repetition makes a book predictable and children love to call out the words. The book Oso Pardo, Oso Pardo, que ves ahi? is excellent for this. Once the children become familiar with the story, the reader can turn the page to show the next animal and pause to let the children say what it is. This will empower the children and encourage pretend reading, which lays a foundation for true reading. Another book with a similar pattern in this kit is Sal de Paseo. In the story, Salta, Ranita, Salta, the phrase Salta, Ranita, Salta, is the answer to each question. Let the children shout it out.. After the story, let the children pretend to be frogs. Have them squat down with their arms straight out in front of them. Then have them jump forward, raising their arms high into the air before returning to the squatting position. Ask them to jump fast, to take big frog jumps, to take a certain number of jumps, to jump slowly, and to take little frog jumps.

Here comes the moon, (Get one hand up high and with the palm of the hand pretend you have the moon). Eating cactus-pears, (Start bringing your hand slowly towards the tummy) Throwing the skins Into the pond. (Tickle tummy.)

VAMOS A CAZAR UN OSO. Were Going On A Bear Hunt. A Story to act out. Were going on a bear hunt. Were not scared. Pat hands on thighs for the sound of footsteps. Oh, look! I see a field! Hand shielding eyes, point. Cant go around it, Cant go under it. Lets go through it! Swish, Swish! Rub hands together, swishing through tall grass. Repeat, with: Tree --Lets go up it! Climb tree. at top, shield eyes, look around Swamp! -- Lets go through it! Squish, squash Cup hands, walk them as though walking through mud. River!-- Lets go through it ! Splash, splash! Pretend to swim. Cave! -- Lets go in it! Shh, shh! Pretend to tiptoe, finger to lips Oh whats that? Its big! Its furry! Its a BEAR!!! Lets GO! Repeat all the actions in reverse order - tiptoeing, swimming, squishing through mud, climbing the tree, swishing through the field fast! Wipe brow - WHEW, WE MADE IT!

After reading El Tapiz de Abuela, talk with the children and help them list the things they like to do with abuelita or abuelito -- or any special person in their lives. Children could also be encouraged to make a card, write a letter, or draw a picture of these special activities to give to their special ones or to put on a bulletin board. Heres an idea to use with Buenas Noches, Luna from the book Story Stretchers by Shirley C. Raines. After reading Buenas Noches, Luna, ask the children what things in their own room they would like to say goodnight to. This is a very soothing activity to finish the day and prepare a child for a new
