Each week my office receives numerous inquiries regarding the Nissequogue River State
Park. Questions come from residents, community leaders, elected officials and business
organizations regarding a variety of different issues related to this property.

In the interests of f'aimess and efficiency, I thought it would be most helpfui to address all
these issues (or as many as possible) at one tirne. As you know I airn keenly interested in having
the study and planning phases of this project move forward in due course.

Given the broad collective interests in this newly created park, I am asking for your
attendance at a community meeting to provide Kings Park residents and representatives with an
update on the agency's work with regard to the Nissequogue River State Park and to answer any
questions they may have. Your personal attendance at this meeting it critically important to
establishing an open and productive dialogue on this subject.

In an effort to accommodate your availability, I welcome receiving any weekdays you

have open during the month of September to schedule such a meeting. Please contact me at your
