OGDCL treats all its employees as a valuable asset.

For attracting
and retaining employees it provides a attractive compensation
package. OGDCL believes that attractive compensation package
leads to productivity and efficiency of organization.

LEAVES

Study Leave

1. An employee may be granted study leave by the managing director for the
maximum period of two years during the entire service of the employee, provided
that the employee has been in service of the company for a continuous period of
10 years.
2. Study leave may be granted for studies within Pakistan or abroad (outside
Pakistan), provided that such studies may increase the usefulness of the employee
to the company.
3. Study leave shall not be granted to employee who obtains scholarship without
involving the company.
4. The employee shall also need to furnish a bond in prescribed form, for an amount
as specified by the company, to the effect that he and his sureties shall be liable to
pay the specified amount to the company if the employee violates any terms and
conditions of the bond.

Casual Leave
An employee may be granted casual leave upto maximum of 20 days in a calendar year.
However the casual leaves shall not be combined with any other leaves. The casual leave
shall not be claimed as a matter of right. However, it shall be granted unless the presence
of employee is absolutely necessary in an emergency or any extra ordinary circumstance.

Maternity Leave

Female employee may be granted maternity leaves, as prescribed by the laws of the
company.

Leave on average pay


The maximum period of leave on average pat that is granted to an employee at a time is:

Without medical certificate 120 days


With medical certificate 180 days

Iddat leave
A Muslim female employee, on death of her husband is granted Iddat leave on full pay
when applied for, not exceeding than 130 days.
MEDICAL FACILITY

All the regular employees and their families shall be entitled to medical facilities.
Including

• Free of charge medical attendance and treatment


• Accommodation would be provided in approved hospitals
• Reimbursement of medical expenses in emergency cases
• Annual medical checkup of officers
• Medical facility after retirement.

• LIFE INSURANCE POLICY

Employees are a valuable asset for OGDCL. This is assured by


providing them with life insurance policy to its high level management
officers. The present life insurance system given by OGDCL t its
officers are 48 basic salaries with a minimum sum assured of Rs. 0.50
million and a maximum of Rs. 1.5 million.

COST OF LIVING

House Rent

House rent is also given to employees, and is allotted to them in their salary. It varies
according to the designation of employee.

TRANSPORTATION FACILITY

Advance for purchase of conveyance

The advance for purchase of the following conveyance may be sanctioned by the
company to its regular employees, subject to certain conditions

Type of conveyance

• Motor car
• Motor cycle
• Scooter
Conditions for advance

1. The advance will be granted to a regular employee having minimum of four(4)


years of service.
2. The regular employee granted advance for purchase of conveyance shall submit a
declaration to the effect that he or any member of his family does not own a
conveyance.
3. The employee granted advance for purchase of conveyance shall execute an
agreement.
4. The employee having less than six years of service shall furnish two sureties of
the regular employee of the company, each surety committing to 50% of the
amount of advance, incase of employee failure to repay.
5. The agreement, mortgage bond and the surety bonds referred to in these rules
shall be kept in safe custody of the sanction authority.
6. When the advance is fully repaid, the agreement, the mortgage bond or the surety
bond, as the case may be, shall be returned to the employee concerned duly
cancelled.
7. The conveyance shall be insured against loss, theft, fire, or accidents within one
month from the date of purchase.
• CAR POLICY

OGDCL provides car policy to its entitled officers. This policy also
differs depending on the status of the officers.

The HR department also allows its officers the choice of car from the
makers and models available in the market. However the officer can
request the car of choice within his entitlement only. The prices of
following makes/models of vehicles are taken as baseline price for
selection of car:

• Traveling allowance for family of employee on Transfer

1. The family of an employee may, in the consequences of his transfer precede him
by one month or follow him within six months to his new headquarter to which
traveling allowance is admissible for the family.
2. The limit of joining the family of an employee within one month or six months
may be relaxed by the competent authority.
ALLOWANCES

OGDCL gives plenty of allowances to its officers as they believe that in


order to increase performance they need to satisfy officer needs first.
Some allowances are:

1. Messing Allowance:
The messing allowance at the fields are Rs.225/- per day

2. Utility Allowance:
The Utility Allowance is allowed at flat rate of 15% of basic
pay.

3. Special Allowance:
The following allowance and perquisites which are not
being paid in Salary or are not based on percentage of
basic salary are merged into one allowance called the
“Special Allowance”

• T.A/ D.A FOR OFFICERS

The following are T.A/ D.A benefits and entitlements:

a. EG-I to EG-VI by air in Economy Class
b. EG-VII and above by Business Class
c. Taxi Charges on actual OR Rs. 5.00 per Km on using own
transport.

3. Daily allowance for Local Tour


a. EG-I to EG-V ---- Rs.550/-
b. EG-VI and above ---- Rs.1200/-
4. Daily Allowance on Foreign Tour
This allowance includes all expenses that include boarding and
Lodging etc. this kind of allowance includes:
a. EG-I to EG-V ---- US $ 350 per day
b. EG-VI and above ---- US $ 450 per day
c. Plus official Telephone, Fax, Internet, Taxi etc.

PERFORMANCE RELATED CRITERIA FOR PAYMENT OF BONUS TO


THE OFFICERS:

In October 12, 2004 OGDCL came up with giving bonuses to its officers
to get them motivated so to achieve productive performance from
them. OGDCL gives bonuses to all its officers and executives (regular,
contract, deputations etc) who have completed one year of services
with the company. They are paid bonuses on the following basis:

INCENTIVES

• INCREMENT SYSTEM

“The additional increment equivalent to 10% of the basic pay is


allowed on completion of 15, 25 years services, subject to officers
having two or more Good or Very Good ACR’s out of three and other,
and employee having weaker evaluation will be allowed increase of
5% of basic pay”. The officers are allowed an increment on ATAP’s
rating as under:

Conditions on which services shall count for increment

In order to motivate employees, highlight the conditions on which employee would be


incremented.

• All duty in a regular post, on time-scale and period of leave, other than extra-
ordinary leave, shall count for increment.

Period of officiating on a higher post shall count for increment in the time-scale of the
permanent post
