For attracting
and retaining employees it provides a attractive compensation
package. OGDCL believes that attractive compensation package
leads to productivity and efficiency of organization.
LEAVES
Study Leave
1. An employee may be granted study leave by the managing director for the
maximum period of two years during the entire service of the employee, provided
that the employee has been in service of the company for a continuous period of
10 years.
2. Study leave may be granted for studies within Pakistan or abroad (outside
Pakistan), provided that such studies may increase the usefulness of the employee
to the company.
3. Study leave shall not be granted to employee who obtains scholarship without
involving the company.
4. The employee shall also need to furnish a bond in prescribed form, for an amount
as specified by the company, to the effect that he and his sureties shall be liable to
pay the specified amount to the company if the employee violates any terms and
conditions of the bond.
Casual Leave
An employee may be granted casual leave upto maximum of 20 days in a calendar year.
However the casual leaves shall not be combined with any other leaves. The casual leave
shall not be claimed as a matter of right. However, it shall be granted unless the presence
of employee is absolutely necessary in an emergency or any extra ordinary circumstance.
Maternity Leave
Female employee may be granted maternity leaves, as prescribed by the laws of the
company.
Iddat leave
A Muslim female employee, on death of her husband is granted Iddat leave on full pay
when applied for, not exceeding than 130 days.
MEDICAL FACILITY
All the regular employees and their families shall be entitled to medical facilities.

COST OF LIVING
House Rent
House rent is also given to employees, and is allotted to them in their salary. It varies
according to the designation of employee.
TRANSPORTATION FACILITY
The advance for purchase of the following conveyance may be sanctioned by the
company to its regular employees, subject to certain conditions

• Motor car
• Motor cycle
• Scooter
Conditions for advance
OGDCL provides car policy to its entitled officers. This policy also
differs depending on the status of the officers.
The HR department also allows its officers the choice of car from the
makers and models available in the market. However the officer can
request the car of choice within his entitlement only. The prices of
following makes/models of vehicles are taken as baseline price for
selection of car:
1. The family of an employee may, in the consequences of his transfer precede him
by one month or follow him within six months to his new headquarter to which
traveling allowance is admissible for the family.
2. The limit of joining the family of an employee within one month or six months
may be relaxed by the competent authority.
ALLOWANCES
1. Messing Allowance:
The messing allowance at the fields are Rs.225/- per day
2. Utility Allowance:
The Utility Allowance is allowed at flat rate of 15% of basic
pay.
3. Special Allowance:
The following allowance and perquisites which are not
being paid in Salary or are not based on percentage of
basic salary are merged into one allowance called the
“Special Allowance”

e. Petrol
f. PhD Allowance
g. Residential Allowance
h. Briefcase Allowance
i. Air conditioner/Refrigerator Allowance

2. Entitlement
a. EG-I to EG-VI by air in Economy Class
b. EG-VII and above by Business Class
c. Taxi Charges on actual OR Rs. 5.00 per Km on using own
transport.
In October 12, 2004 OGDCL came up with giving bonuses to its officers
to get them motivated so to achieve productive performance from
them. OGDCL gives bonuses to all its officers and executives (regular,
contract, deputations etc) who have completed one year of services
with the company. They are paid bonuses on the following basis:

• All duty in a regular post, on time-scale and period of leave, other than extra-
ordinary leave, shall count for increment.
Period of officiating on a higher post shall count for increment in the time-scale of the
permanent post
