ASSIGNMENT
PROGRAMME CODE SEMESTER SESSION COURSE / CODE Objective: The aim of this assignment is to enable students to carry out appropriate investigation and research for civil engineering works. In the process, students will be able to identify and understand the components and construction process of the civil engineering works. Task: Working as a group of 6 to 7 members, you and your group are required to identify ONE real life project as your case study, which can either be an ongoing project or a completed project, according to the topics assigned to your group as follows: Group 1: Dams Group 2: Roads & Highways Group 3: Earth Retaining Structures Group 4: Tunnels Group 5: Railways & Tracks Group 6: Bridges Once you have selected a case study, you and your group are then required to prepare a brief report on the selected case study. The written report shall be in A4 size with Arial 11 font, 1.5 spacing, justified, with 3 cm left margin and 2 cm top, bottom and right margin. You and your group are then required to replicate your case study into ONE mini model on an A1 size board, showing the overall civil structure of your case study and its main components. Using the mini model created, you and your group are to carry out a 15 minutes presentation, describing the case study and the various components of the structure including the activities involved in the construction process.
