Les verbes
There are three groups of verbs. The present tense of regular verbs can be found by dropping the infinitive ending and adding the personal endings to the main verb. This is called conjugation. -ER VERBES: In verb ending with er , remove er from the root verb and add -e -es -e -ons -ez -ent

E.g. Parler - to speak Je parle Tu parles I Speak You Speak

Il /Elle/on parle Nous parlons Vous parlez Ils/elles parlent

He/She/It Speaks We Speak You Speak They Speak

E.g. Regarder - to watch Je regarde Tu regardes Il/elle regarde Nous regardons Vous regardez Ils/elles regardent I look at You look at He/She/It looks at We look at You look at They look at

-IR VERBES: In verb ending with ir , remove er from the root verb and add -is -is -it -issons -ssez -ssent

E.g. Finir - to finish Je finis Tu finis Il /Elle/on finit Nous finissons Vous finissez Ils/elles finissent E.g. Choisir to choose Je choisis Tu choisis Il /Elle/on choisit Nous choisissons Vous choisissez Ils/elles choisissent I choose You choose He/She/It chooses We choose You choose They choose I finish You finish He/She/It finishes We finish You finish They finish

E.g. Attendre to wait J'attends Tu attends Il /Elle/on attend Nous attendons Vous attendez Ils/elles attendent I wait You wait He/She/It waits We wait You wait They wait
