KONSEP DIRI PADA WARIA THE SELT - CONCEPT OF TRANSSEXUAL

Transsexual is a person who is physically a male but the intention to be a female. This research aims to examine the self-concept of transsexual and factors influencing the creation of transsexuals victims self-cencept. The amount of the research subject is three. The result of data analysis indicates that 1) physically, the subject mask their indentity as a male, 2) psychologically, they consider themselves like a female and feel that the transsexual is different from another sex, 3) morally, their behavior in the behalf of God is personal affair because being a transsexual is a subjects own option, and 4) socially, they feel less confident in a social life and wish other people to treat them as a female. The factors influencing the creation of self-concept include the contrast between the subjects intention for being a female and their physical condition as a male and the high self-confidence for performing external genital, a social environment treating them as people unsuitable to the sex, and a social environment not strengthening their identity as a male.
