    Assumption: something that you think is true without having all of the facts.

    Observation: something that you can see, hear, smell, taste, or feel. An
    accurate description of what you can sense. It’s not always what you think.

    1. Observations: Picked up small beaker. Flipped it upside down. Poured a


    clear liquid in it. No apparent change. Picked up a second small
    beaker. Flipped it upside down. Poured a clear liquid in it.
    Color of the liquid changed to pink.

    2. Observations: Picked up a large beaker with a clear liquid inside of it.


    Dropped in a solid object. The object floated. Picked up a
    second large beaker. Dropped a similar solid into it. The object
    sank.
