ASSESSMENT 2: Assignment - REFLECTIVE ESSAY

WEIGHTING: 20% of Final Grade

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Using 5 resources linked to leadership, you are to write a reflective essay
on leadership, turning theory into practice.
2. Your essay must include:
• a brief summary or abstract of each of the resources you have used;
• a synthesis of the conclusions you have drawn from your own
interpretation of these resources, and
• a description of the future actions you propose regarding leadership
and how they emanate from the resources you have read.
• The essay’s length is not to exceed 3,000 words, presented
professionally in 12 font Arial, 1.5 spacing using correct spelling and
syntax.
• A 10% penalty if the essay does not meet the presentation
requirements.
3. A Reference Section must be included in your essay, using the APA
referencing method.
4. Please refer to the Student Handbook regarding the late assignment
policy.

Essential
Grading Standard
A 75-100 Demonstrated essential elements 1-5 to a high High
standard.
B 60-69 Demonstrated essential elements 1-5 to a Medium
medium standard.
C 50-59 Demonstrated essential elements 1-3 to a Medium
medium standard.
D 40-49 Demonstrated essential elements 1-6 to a low Low
standard.
E 0-39 Did not demonstrate essential elements 1-3 to an
acceptable standard.

Definition of Standards:

High Shows evidence of critical thinking, critically examining aspects of


leadership, evaluation is evident regarding the theories and
practices of leadership. Indicates strong evidence of self-
awareness of the issues affecting leadership.
Medium Shows evidence of valued and measured evaluation of processes
regarding the theories and practices of leadership.
Low Uses material with little evidence of critical thinking, analysis,
evaluation and awareness of the issues affecting leadership.
