AREAS OF PLANE FIGURES

TRIANGLE :- It is a closed figure bounded by three line segments it has 3

corners.
1. Area of a Tringle= ½ (base)(height)
(when its base and height are given)
2. S = (a+b+c)/2

(Hero’s Formula)

PARALLELOGRAM = It is a quadric lateral having two pair of opposite

sides parallel and equal .

.Area of Parallelogram = base*height

RHOMBUS =It is a quadric lateral having all the four sides equal and parallel . Its
diagonal are perpendicular bisectors of each other .

Area of Rhombus= ½*d1*d2

RECTANGLE= It is a parallelogram having all the angles equal to 900 and

opposite sides are equal and parallel.

Area of Rectangle=Length*breadth
SQUARE= Its all sides equal , its diagonal are equal and bisect each other at 900 and
