Glasgow University Chapel Choir

Choral Contemplations at 6
New for 2011 a series of early evening services and recitals, performed by Glasgow Universitys acclaimed Chapel Choir in the stunning setting of the Universitys Memorial Chapel. The perfect way to end your working day, these short, reflective services and recitals take place at 6pm every Tuesday during term time. Loosely following the seasons of the church year, they take inspiration from the festivals and saints days that fall around each performance date. From Bach and Purcell to Poulenc, Britten and Rutter, the music is drawn from a variety of traditions and styles, with popular favourites and less well-known repertoire including the Scottish premieres of several pieces by James MacMillan. Each service and recital also features organ music played by Kevin Bowyer, University Organist and internationally renowned recitalist. Entry to services and recitals is free and all are very welcome, whatever your background or beliefs.
