OVERVIEW
REALITY Illinois @ Chicago is…
• an anti-tobacco campaign developed by teens

• funded by the Illinois Department of Public Health


(IDPH) via the Illinois Tobacco-Free Communities Program (ITFC).

• 14 chapters across the state


Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) is a local chapter

• Teens (13 –18)


leadership roles to educate peers, communities on dangers of
tobacco product
catalysts for change in community view of tobacco use

GOALS
Support the 4 goals of the ITFC statewide campaign:

 prevent the initiation of tobacco use among young


people

 eliminate exposure to secondhand smoke

 promote tobacco cessation among youth and


adults and

 identify and eliminate tobacco-related disparities


among specific population groups
