Every trainee is required to recited the following article.

Smoking in Public Places

Do you smoke? Have you ever suffered from smoking? Although smoking in public places has long been
prohibited by our government, the effect is not so impressive as what we had expected. Almost everywhere
you go, you will meet people with cigarettes in hand or mouth. And what worries us most is that we have
a growing number of adolescent smokers.

Obviously, smoking harms not only smokers themselves but also innocent non-smokers around them.
According to the latest research, non-smokers actually take in more nicotine than the smokers themselves do.
Besides, if a father is a regular smoker, his son will, in most cases, follow suit.

Many diseases, such as lung cancer, heart disease and bronchial troubles, are definitely associated with
smoking. Actually, the number of deaths attributed to smoking clearly outweighs all other factors, whether
voluntary or involuntary, as a cause of death.

In view of the seriousness of the problem, great efforts must be made to inform youngsters of the terrible
consequences of taking up smoking habit. And our government should initiate more aggressive anti-smoking
campaigns to protect the public interests.
