Acid and Metal Carbonate Reaction

We put some copper carbonate into hydrochloric acid in a test tube. The hydrochloric acid reacted with the copper carbonate we used a tube to collect the gas produced.

To test for carbon dioxide we bubbled the gas that we collected through some lime water in another test tube. Because the lime water turned from colourless to milky we know carbon dioxide was produced
