VILLAGE BY THE SEA, CHAPTER 4 SUMMARY

1. Hari decided to act and do something.

Find a job, (also going out to buy some ice for his mother).

2. He went to see Biju to ask for a job. 3. When he arrived, he saw Biju was arguing with a stranger. The stranger told Biju that their land will be bought up and factories will be built. All the land, farms and coconut trees will be vanished.

4. Biju disagree with the strangers statements and said no one will take their lands. 5. Hari continued his walk to the temple. 6. He saw large group of people outside the brick hall of the temple

All of them were listening to a young man from Alibagh. ( Who felt he must stood beside his fellow villager and fight for the right of farmers and fishermen. He asked them to join him to protest at Bombay. )

7. Hari was in dilemma, Should he join the villagers, march to Bombay, and take part in the protest? Or should he take part of the government and try to find a job at the factory? 8. The idea of going to Bombay excited him most.

9. When Hari got back from getting the ice for his mother, he found his

sisters crying because their dog, name Pinto had been poisoned.
10. The girls are strongly believing their neighbour who had threatened to

kill their dog if their father did not pay him for the toddy.
