The Disaster Recovery and Contingency plan for The TAFE SA – Panorama Campus is
an Education Institute that offers Diploma award and Para professional courses to the
local community

The system of the part IT include a Domain Controller running Windows 2000 Advanced
Server and two member server is running with Tom Cat server and also the Oracle
Server is running Windows 2003 which serves students using the Oracle Designer
throughout the campus. The other member server has the Windows SQL Sever 2000 with
the IIS running on a Microsoft platform.

The system does not have any backup recovery procedures. The Institute director was
aware that the old contingency plan and disaster recovery policy and procedures were out
of date.

• Identify, quantify and qualify risks that may affect the services provided and the
potential business impact of the risks identified
• Prepare a contingency planning policy statement regarding minimization of these
impacts
• Prepare strategies to minimise these impacts and support business continuity
• Identify options for backup and recovery of the SQL Server
• For the SQL Server, identify staff responsibilities for both normal and emergency
operations
• Recommend how the contingency plan can be maintained and how users can be
informed of any changes in policies or procedures
• Prepare a detailed backup procedure for a particular scenario involving the SQL
Server
• Prepare a restoration procedure with regard to the scenario described
• Identify hardware/software and staff support required for the implementation of
the recommended plan and provide costings
