A Fate Worse Than Death

By Elton Camp When young, Albert always made his way Discharged his responsibilities day-by-day In his teenage days as a sturdy, young lad He laughed and played, but was never bad While Albert never become anyone great At work he was diligent and never late He held a job at the towns main lumber mill But for old age, hed love to work there still As a young man, he took a very fine wife She was always his only & delight of his life When children came, they loved their dad Who provided and comforted them when sad Wonderful family experiences they shared For about each other they always cared Grandchildren only added to Alberts joy For he truly loved each little girl and boy Alzheimers disease came & took it all away Albert can no longer recall the things they say
