 Temperature Compensation

• As Temperature changes resistance of glass electrode

changes, hence pH changes

• This can be compensated by using LAP glasses

• As Temperature changes EMF between electrodes

changes
• This can be compensated by inserting temperature
compensation probe (Platinum wire)
• Generally pH meters equipped with automatic
temperature compensation probe
• It automatically measures the sample temperature and
adjusts the meter sensitivity for correct temperature
