The flatbed method feeder explained

In flight the rig wont tangle because the hooklink and bait are tucked inside the groundbait.

1
When they suck in the hair rigged bait they hook themselves against the feeder and bolt away dont strike, just pick up the bending quivertip rod.

This is the basic rig a Preston Innovations inline feeder threaded on the mainline with a swivel and short 3- to 5- inch hooklink of strong 69lb line tied to the end.

The swivel pulls into the end of the feeder to lock the rig together.

Fish like bream and carp dig into the groundbait coating.

Lay a thin layer of fishmeal groundbait in the base of the mould.

Bait the hook and lay it and the hooklink on top of the feed. For a piece of meat like this use a size 1216 hook.

Once again this is a simple rig to construct and follows the same principle as the inline bolt feeder shown on the previous spread. The feeder is threaded on to the mainline before a swivel and a short hooklink is tied on the end. When the hookbait is picked up the fish hooks itself against the weight of the feeder and you get a rod-ripping bite. However, one major difference with this rig is that the groundbait is packed on the outside of the feeder, and to make this job an awful lot easier a brilliant gadget called a Preston Innovations Quick-Release Method mould is used. Heres what you do

Fill the mould with groundbait. Place the ribs of the feeder face down on the groundbait.

Press down on the metal base of the feeder to push it into the bait.

Turn the mould over and press the release button on the underside.

The feeder, now loaded with groundbait, is jettisoned.

Heres the aerodynamically-shaped feeder rig ready to be cast.
