THE GOSPEL PREACHER ASSOCIATION is an organization
formed for the purpose of getting out the message of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ – THE GOSPEL (John 3:16).
THE GOSPEL PREACHER ASSOCIATION believes the New
Testament teaches that the responsibility for preaching the Gospel to the world is given to the local church; therefore, we work through local churches throughout America as the sending agencies for missionaries, pastors, and evangelists who go out under the GPA.
THE GOSPEL PREACHER ASSOCIATION believes the heart of
missionary work consists of three elements: establishing local churches, evangelizing, and teaching (or discipling). This three-fold work should result in strong, productive, and autonomous local churches.
THE GOSPEL PREACHER ASSOCIATION believes there to be
many scriptural ministries used to fulfill the Great Commission; therefore, we are not limited to just sending missionaries to establish new churches (although this, in itself, is a part of our work). Where there are existing churches of like faith on the field (such as those we have found in Wales, England, Ireland, Scotland, and other places), we work with those churches. We do not try to be a substitute for them, but simply become partners with them as we endeavor to work together to get out the Gospel. We aid pastors, evangelists, and even helpers (in a like manner as John Mark who helped Paul and Barnabas – Acts 13:5) – all working in the line of authority and sent from the local church.
THE GOSPEL PREACHER ASSOCIATION will continue to stand in
the tradition of old-fashioned Baptists, believing those fundamental doctrines to be right and scriptural—helping to establish only works of like faith. All workers with the GPA will only be involved with churches and ministries of like faith.
THE GOSPEL PREACHER ASSOCIATION works at home and
abroad through the printed page, camp meeting, co-operative meetings, and single church meetings—always in an effort to stir, strengthen, and move local churches on to the work of spreading the GOSPEL.
THE GOSPEL PREACHER ASSOCIATION’S official organ is the
publication of The Gospel Preacher Missionary Journal. This publication serves as a means of promoting the cause of Christ through missions with informative articles and information about our missionaries and their works.
