Lesson Description
This lesson is designed to introduce Operators to the key screens and displays in IDMS. The Operators will log on and become familiar with the displays and tabs within the suite to meet the day-to- day requirements of their job. The instructor will provide an introductory demonstration and begin the process of orienting participants to the screens, menus, displays, toolbars along with the layers on the displays and means of navigation between displays and tabular views. One of the main learning goals of this lesson is to provide an organizational framework and nomenclature related to the suite of applications and begin to create familiarity necessary for finding displays/tabs and related concepts. This lesson will include instruction to assist learners on keeping their work environment organized. This lesson will include a guided tour with the learners benefiting from the instructors knowledge and experience as they are guided through the organization and layout of the suite.
Lesson Description
This lesson introduces the user interface, the organization, and the layout for working in IDMS. The instructor provides a tour and demonstration to navigate the system and introduce the screens, menus, displays, and toolbars. Step 1: Select a piece of lateral on a conductor. See Figure 2-# - Select Lateral & Draw a Multi Loop Schematic Step 2: The system recognizes the conductor is underground and the Draw a Multi Loop Schematic button is enabled. Step 1: Select a substation from the Geographic Display, (the Heavenly Substation is selected in this example). Figure 2-44 shows Select Substation.
Once the station is selected, the toolbar populates the Navigate to SCADA Display button.
