Regarding: Jonathan Babcock, 9th grade To Attendance Office: This letter is in response to the attendance warning letter I received today. Regarding my son's attendance on September 27th, 2011, in 1st period, he was tardy and Coach Shakir marked him as absent and past the 10-minute mark. Jonathan said he was only about 3 minutes late (which would be consistent with my understanding, since I heard the bell as I dropped him off, and then counting the time to go across campus to class). If this letter will suffice as an excuse for that tardy, (Jonathan missed the bus that morning) please apply it to his attendance record. However, I will defer to the Coach as he was there and I wasn't. Regarding the October 14th, 2011, absences in the 5th and 6th periods, I checked Jonathan out early with the attendance office due to a death in the family. I neglected to send in an excuse note the following Monday, and for that I apologize. I hope this serves as acceptable clarification for Jonathan's attendance.
