    This letter will serve to introduce to you a student from Chairo Christian School. They are endeavouring to obtain a Work Placement position for one term of the 2011 school year. The Work Placement Program is an important part of the 9/10 Technology Class curriculum at the school, and it is hoped that some of the following objectives will be achieved:           Increase the students understanding of the working environment. Provide an integrating focus for the students learning. Provide some basic skills training in the workplace. Provide data for classroom learning about work. Increase students self-understanding and self-confidence. Give the student an opportunity to explore employment or career options. Give the student an opportunity to experience new relationships in a formal work setting. Allow the student to observe the use made of skills taught in school subjects. Provide an opportunity for parents and their child to discuss the students future. Bring about an improvement in school-community relationships.

    The placement is generally one day per week for a duration of ten weeks. This student will be covered by Work Cover and should be paid minimum amount of $5.00 per day. Students are now required to successfully complete a safe@work Occupational Health and Safety program before participating in Work Placement. A teacher will visit or contact the student and employer during the work placement period. I am sure this student would greatly appreciate your assistance in this program. If you are able to assist by placing them with your organization, further information and documentation will be provided at a later date.
