Dear 2nd-graders and Family, My name is Katherine Rehus, and I am a fourth-year Elementary Education student at the University of Illinois.

For the next few months, I will be in Mrs. Olsons classroom five days of the week. Eventually, I will be doing a full classroom takeover for five weeks, during which I will carry out all of Mrs. Olsons usual responsibilities and implement my own lesson plans. In the meantime, I am enthusiastic to learn more about all of the students and the culture here at White Heath and in Mrs. Olsons class! While Champaign is home to me during the school year, I otherwise live in Downers Grove, IL, a western suburb of Chicago. When in my hometown, I nanny two children and work a retail job to save money for my true passion: travelling. I recently spent twenty-three days of the universitys winter break in Australia, and it was absolutely amazing! When I graduate from the U of I in May, I would like to begin my career teaching English abroad or instructing general elementary studies at an American international school overseas. I am eager to dive into my student teaching experience in Mrs. Olsons class, and I look forward to joining this great group of Super Sage 2nd-graders for a semester of success!
