NOTES AND VARIANTS

PZL P.11c: A world-class design in 1934, the highly maneuverable but slow P.11c was obsolete by 1939. About 120 P.11cs flew against over 1,000 German fighters. Most went down fighting. Only about 1/3 had wing guns due to production delays (3-6 on D6 use N1 only). Only about 1/3 have a radio. 4 sqdns available in Rumania 37-41 (P.11f), all with 4 mgs. Fixed-pitch prop, open cockpit, fixed gear, simple telescopic sight, ring & bead back-up sight. PZL P.11a: Available 1933. First production version of the P.11, with a 500hp Mercury IVS2 engine (power = 1/1/2/3/3). Max speed - .5 13-24,000 ft. Armed with N1 with 12 ammo. A few were pressed into service in Sept. 39. PZL P.11g: With war looming, PZL rushed development of a P.11 with 4 MGs and an 840-hp Bristol Mercury VIII engine. Production missed turning one out by a few weeks. Added as a what if. Uses values in parentheses.
