Assembling and Reproducing the Test

1. Reviewing and Editing Arranging How should the items be grouped or arranged on the pages of the test booklet. Always make sure that it is arranged from simple to more difficult questions. Divide them into parts or sections. Eg.: Section A,B, C and D Make sure that every part or section begins on a new page. Is the length appropriate for the time limit? Are there spelling errors? Is the test free from clues or errors? Do the items have answers? Are the overall format appropriate?

3. Directions and Instructions Directions or instructions must be clear and brief. State exactly what is intended to be mentioned. Highlight the key words. e.g.: Answer ALL questions. 4. Reproducing (How will the test and answer sheets be produced?) Make sure there are enough copies. It is also advisable to print more than what is needed. Make sure that the print is clear. Make sure that all pages and questions are printed. Make sure the pages are arranged accordingly to the right sequence.

Administering the Test

Think of a conducive place/room/hall. The candidates should be attended through out the test by examiner(s). The number of examiners should be sufficient to invigilate the test. Possibly have the test administered at the same time if it involves more than one class. Candidates are not allowed to bring in books or notes into the examination hall. Candidate are not allowed to communicate among themselves during exam. Do not pose any threat to candidates. Inform the students of the test earlier than date. Set a proper time and date. Do not allow students to cheat. Examiners should not wear anything that would distract candidates attention. E.g.: perfume, high heel, or indecent attire. Minimize interference like making announcements on correction. Do not stay near the candidates for too long. Remind the candidates of the time.
