Annotated Bibliography Synthesis

In general, I would say I did not actually need five sources to adequately research the Battle of Stalingrad. Several of the sources, especially the books, contained enough information to write a historical inquiry paper. Most of the sources were very in depth and very detailed, though considering the infamy of Stalingrad, I expected that. All of the sources contained virtually the same information, save the book Paulus and Stalingrad. This book was actually very convenient to have at my disposal for my inquiry. Paulus and Stalingrad was an biography about the German commander Friedrich Paulus, arguably the most important German commander besides possibly General Hoth, throughout the entire battle of Stalingrad. This biography gave an inside look at Stalingrad through the eyes of the Germans, a side very rarely seen, either through lack of accounts or just disinterest. The biography about Paulus gave me an insight on the German perspective of the battle, and the disillusionment that most of those soldiers that survived felt towards the Reich. The Wikipedia article about Stalingrad was also helpful for my paper because it is a conglomeration of sources combined into one article it is very detailed. While the autobiography provided information about the German side of the battle, the Wikipedia article provided a detailed overview.
