102 22 February 2012 Assisted Suicide Paragraph Essay Jack Kevorkians A Case of Assisted Suicide shows that not everyone wants to live through painful experiences, and he was one of the first people to notice this, so he wants to help the people that want to end their lives. Kevorkian makes it a personal vendetta to help these people in need, even if it means his social decline and exile. Kevorkian is a man that knew what had to be done and was not afraid to do it. When Kevorkian is looking for a place to perform the assisted suicide, he states, I had made a Herculean effort to provide a desirable, clinical setting. (319) He could not obtain a good location to perform the suicide because his reputation had preceded him. Kevorkian did not give up and was forced to perform the operation in a camper at a public camp site. When Kevorkian performs the operation he tells Janet, Have a nice trip, (323) like what he was doing was merely helping someone across the street. He does what he does because he thinks it is the right thing to do, and he does not doubt himself. 213 characters
