The Relationship between Quality of Work Life and job satisfaction amongst fresher teaching faculty of Engineering colleges

at Kanchipuram district, Tamilnadu.

Abstract: QWL is a comprehensive Program designated to improve employee satisfaction. Concerns about job quality have become more widespread, crossing all industries and occupations. The purpose of this paper was to investigate the relationship between quality of work life and job satisfaction of fresher teaching faculty with experience of zero to three years of engineering colleges in Kanchipuram District, Tamilnadu. Seven QWL variables were examined namely growth and development, participation, physical environment, relationship with department head, pay and benefits and family concerns were examined to determine their relationship with job satisfaction. A random sampling technique was used to select respondents. 150 respondents are included in the study. The results showed that the majority of fresher teaching faculty are not satisfied with many factors namely growth and development, participation, physical environment, relationship with department head, income .It is indicated that their work was not interesting and satisfying. The results showed that there was a relationship between QWL and job satisfaction and provide insights on how these engineering colleges could improve upon their employees satisfaction.
