We begin in the name of Allah The Most Merciful and Most Gracious. We shall begin our event today with the recital of ummul kitab, al fatihah lead by Brother Azri Kamaruddin. [al-fatihah recital] Thank you Brother Azri. Lets say Good evening to everyone and thank you all for being here and thank you all for your patience. My name is Nuur Mursyiidah Muhammad and Ill be hosting Todays inter-house Islamic Figure story telling competition on behalf of KYUEM ISLAMIC WEEK COMMITTEE. First off, Id like to extend a warm welcome to our team of judges, _________________________________________________________, __________________________________________________________, and __________________________________________________________ . who are benevolent and generous enough to spare their own personal after-class evening time to be on the adjudicators side for this competition.. May God bless you all with good rewardings.

Im also delighted to welcome our contestants and supporters comprised of the KYUEM Students who joined us this evening. We are very honoured indeed to have all of you present here this evening. WELCOME AGAIN TO KYUEM ISLAMIC WEEK INTER-HOUSE STORY TELLING COMPETITION!

(3) Background KYUEM ISLAMIC WEEK seems to be the fitting setting for the organizing of this story-telling competition which requires each participant to relate a true past event of each respective Islamic Figure. As an event annually held in KYUEM and nicknamed KIWEE, it serves as a platform to convey the true meaning of Islam to the college community as a whole, and bring greater understanding of Islamic teachings which in one way of another complement our needs and wants as a human being, And hence, the theme ESSENCE OF HUMANITY is used as this years KIWEEs theme. Indeed as Allah said in the qoran, chapter verse

In this particular event, we are inspired to shed some light into the life styles and characters of prominent Islamic figures who themselves are the companions and are closely-related to Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. They were there during the early days of Islam, when Islam was not as widely spread as it is today and have been put through many trials and hurdles along the way. And being a human, they portrayed admirable characters as a lesson for all. In practicing the teachings of Islam they proved the essence and beauty of Islam itself. Let us take this opportunity to learn as much as we can from these great prophet companions, salient Islamic contributors and epitomes, prominent leaders, men and women exemplars, and notable role-models in all aspects of life. 4) COMPETITION

(11) Closing Wow, what an insightful journey we have been on this evening, Alhamdulillah! We laughed, we cheered, and were touched by all the stories retold wholeheartedly by all the contestants. We really have to come to the end of our time today.

I would like to ask for another minute to thank on the involvement of everyone throughout this whole event. Though small as it is, its organizing is definitely not a one-man-show. Thank you so much for all the competition-exco members who have put so many efforts and time in making this competition a great success.
