The Word of Truth

Finally, brethren, pray for us that the word of the Lord will spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it did also with you; 2 and that we will be rescued from perverse and evil men; for not all have faith. 3 But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. 4 We have confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you are doing and will continue to do what we command. 5 May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ. 2 Thessalonians 3:1-5

The Work of the Church I continue to pray for the members of our congregation to step to the forefront and become more participatory in the churchs ministry. We need Christian believers who are wholeheartedly committed to the Lord and His work and are willing to serve in every area of the churchs ministry. Don Appellof is doing an excellent job as he continues to teach through the book of Genesis in the adult Sunday School class. He does a great job of bringing forth the truths of the Old Testament into the New Testament thus making the lesson practical in nature. He will continue to teach next in the book of Exodus. The teens continue to grow in their excitement about what they are learning and seeing God do in response to their prayers of faith and steps of obedience. We had the privilege of taking the teens to the SUPERBOWL Outreach in Bellevue. We now have four children regularly attending NKOTR on a weekly basis with efforts being made to get more children out. We are seeing the hand of God at work as the children learn their weekly lesson and seek to invite their friends. We need teachers for childrens Sunday School if we are to minister to young families. Continue to pray for the childrens ministry. I am thankful for the loving spirit I have witnessed in the past month among the members of the congregation. People have spent more time fellowshipping during and after the morning worship service. The Christian family fellowship and movie night went very well with several giving a positive response. Let us continue to pray for Gods leading and for His continued provision for the people of the church and through them for the many needs of the churchs ministry. Our God is always faithful to His word and to His people. As leaders we must remember that as we preach and teach, exhort and correct, train, and minister to those under our charge, we do so with the purpose of equipping them for Gods holy service. All that we do we must do in the power, wisdom, and love that the Holy Spirit supplies to us. We need a fresh daily infilling of Gods Spirit. May God give it to us by His grace as we earnestly turn from our sinful ways and seek Him. Karen and I are praying daily for this congregation to remain steadfast in the truth of Gods holy word and faithful to Gods holy work during the coming year so that we will see God do great and mighty things which we know not. We must continue to PRAY for Gods Spirit to fall upon us afresh as a congregation so that we will all be obedient, holy, useful, and productive in our Kingdom service!
