Clock system (CLS) in the Flexi BSC The CLS generates the clock signals necessary for the Flexi BSC. The oscillator of the CLS is normally synchronised to an external source, usually an MSC, through a PCM line. Up to two additional PCM inputs are provided for protection. 2N Functional unit with no subunits 2 as one CL3TG-UA plug-in unit contains one entire CLS unit CL3TG-UA Clock and synchronisation unit

A new variant of CL3TG, the CLTG3-UA is introduced in S14 deliveries. The basic configuration is illustrated in figure Clock and Synchronisation Unit (CLS) in SGC1C-A cartridge and table Plug-in units of the CLS in SGC1C-A cartridge.

1) The Clock and Synchronisation Unit (CLS) pair (CLS 0 and CLS 1; equipped in different SGC1C-A cartridges) requires only one 2 Mbit/s circuit. 2) One CL3TG-UA plug-in unit contains one entire CLS unit. Table 5: Clock and Synchronisation Unit (CLS) in SGC1C-A cartridge

Performance characteristics of CL3TG-UA In the plesiochronous operation mode, the frequency shift of the CL3TG-UA is 2 x 10-8 within each 24-hour period, if the temperature of the environment does not vary. Number of synchronisation inputs: four from PCM lines two external inputs (120 ohm balanced / 75 ohm unbalanced) / one external input (120 ohm balanced / 75 ohm unbalanced)
