Nastya Borshchyova 2FP4 Essay Advantages and disadvantages of marrying young

The idea of the perfect age of marriage at different times was different, but the experience of numerous generations illustrates that it is better to create family only when a person becomes ready for this. Only then one can count on a happy and lasting marriage. Still, many people do not consider the age of newlyweds to be as important, as, for example, the love and desire to start family life. Consequently, one can point out both reasons for and against marrying young. On the one hand, there are a few advantages of getting married at young age. To start with, younger people tend to face plenty of emotional and financial problems when they start to live independently, and this way they are certain to find comfort in their wives or husbands. It is common knowledge that family are sure to create a romantic, optimistic and positive atmosphere of stability, peace and calmness; it becomes a haven for partners and provides them with the feeling of being necessary, important and loved by each other. Secondly, members of such a family are connected and united by the system of relationships and values formed during many years spent together. Consequently, by the age of 40 spouses are likely to have a full-fledged family with adult children able to help them. An additional advantage of young marriage is the fact that children are born in wedlock which is crucial for childs mental health. Thirdly, partners are supposed to get useful experience of family life. Thus, even if their marriage does not last for a long time and ends in divorce, they are likely to start new relations when they are still young and openminded. On the other hand, marrying young is acknowledged to have a number of disadvantages. First of all, marriages between young partners are likely to be very unstable and unhappy, as it is characteristic of young people not to make a sensible decision concerning their marriage, but to rely on their feelings and passions. Needless to say that many adolescents are acknowledged to be physically and psychologically immature, not ready for marriage and, consequently, to responsibility and sensibility, required of future husbands and wives. Furthermore, teenagers tend to have little experience in settling arguments and dealing with typical problems connected with interpersonal relationships and joint life. In addition, early marriage is believed to be an obstacle for their studies, because at least one of them is supposed to be a breadwinner. Therefore, such a family is likely to be dependent on young peoples parents, which then may reduce the family to quarrels and, finally, to divorce

All things considered, marriage at early age has both positive and negative sides. Although it may give a young couple the feeling of protectability and stability, help them mature and form their personalities, unite parents and children by close and steady relationships, it also does prevent them from education and building career and does lead to a lot of problems caused by their immaturity. Taking everything into account, young people should think thoroughly about their future before legalizing their relationships. In other words, one of the best ways out would be living in before an official marriage.
