HUNTERSVILLE, NC: On Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 7:07pm, Officers of the Huntersville Police Department responded to an attempted sexual assault that occurred in the 13299 block of Reese Boulevard. According to the victim an unknown white male suddenly approached her vehicle while she was stopped at a stop sign. The victims drivers side window was down and the suspect reached in and physically forced her from the vehicle. The suspect forced the victim to a concealed area of the median of Reese Boulevard. During the struggle, the victim managed to bite the suspect on the hand as he covered her mouth, allowing her time to retrieve and deploy pepper spray from her keychain. The suspect then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. The initial response included a canine search of the area; however, the suspect was not located. The Huntersville Police Departments Criminal Investigation Division is currently investigating this crime. The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 45-55 years of age with unkempt graying or salt and pepper hair and beard. The suspect will likely have a bite wound on one of his hands. Investigators are encouraging anyone that may have witnessed this crime or observed the suspect in the area to come forward.
