we wish to refer to your above club and note that despite our several attempts to advise and give you time to put the running and management of the club in order, Vely many members of your club have continued to complain both to you and to this
office.

The complaints have revolved around the following main issues among others:1) Genuine Membership

2) Full disclosure of the club's financial status 3) Failure to hold meetings to have members' in-put in decision making 4) Putting the club facilities into un-authorized use 5) Discriminating and intimidating dissenting members 6) Faiiure to consult the tr-ustees in attempting to change user-of the club property 7) General run-down of the club,s facilities

These complaints have been presented to the Honorable Attorney General who has considered and opined that though

is only tenable as long as the society conducts its affairs in

rnanner that is mature and not contentious.

This office therefore would wish to invoke the provisions of section 51 of the Societies Act and intervene by requiring that the club convenes a Special General Meeting within 21days from the date of this letter whereat the members will consider whether or not to appoint a joint committee with the cornplaining mem'nei-s to be chaired bv one of the trustees to carry out a special audit of the club's membership and to thereafter call for an AnnuaL General Meeting in a free, fair and democratic atmosphere. This is the only way that the club can have its operations streamlined and to run smoothly. The outcome of the said meeting must be conveyed to this office within 7 days.
Upon compliance with the above condition and after observing that the club is running smoothly, the exempt status would be restored to the club.
