Updated Script Opening

Boy (Sam) is sat under a tree in a deserted park. Hes wearing a black suit and clutching a funeral program and a childs watch in his hands. On the front page it reads In loving memory of Emily in curly black writing, as he opens it up there is a photograph of two young children playing under the same tree and we realise it to be him and the girl. As the camera zooms into the photograph, it becomes the screen and the characters come to life signifying the start of the memories and beginning of the title sequence.

Title Sequence
The titles begin when the photograph comes to life, accompanied by happy, reminiscing music which from our audience research we have decided will be recorded on an acoustic guitar. The sequence is made up of a string of memories of the pair in the park; through childhood and the teenage years of their life, before returning to the opening to show the boy is now alone.

Memory 1
Sam is playfully chasing after Emily. Both of them are giggling and they disappear behind the left side of the tree.

Memory 2
Sam and Emily come running out the other side of the tree (right), Emily is now waving a scarf as she runs it is blowing about in the wind. They stop and Sam takes hold of Emilys hand. (Shot zooms to show just their hands) The watch used at the very beginning of the film is shown clearly on her wrist.

Memory 3
(Camera zooms back out and theyve become teenagers). The watch is still shown clearly on Emilys wrist. The pair run off out of the shot on the right.

Memory 4
Sam is leaning against the tree with his knees up in front of him and Emily is leaning against him. They are chatting and laughing.

Memory 5
Holding hands, Emily is spun under Sams arm and falls into him laughing, he picks her up and spins round in a circle until he collapses under the tree. The camera then circles around the tree and returns to reality by displaying the original opening scene where it left off.
