Student Expectations Covenant

1 Timothy 4:11-16 Get the word out. Teach all these things. And don't let anyone put you down because you're young. Teach believers with your life: by word, by demeanor, by love, by faith, by integrity. Stay at your post reading Scripture, giving counsel, teaching. And that special gift of ministry you were given when the leaders of the church laid hands on you and prayedkeep that dusted off and in use. Cultivate these things. Immerse yourself in them. The people will all see you mature right before their eyes! Keep a firm grasp on both your character and your teaching. Don't be diverted. Just keep at it. Both you and those who hear you will experience salvation. (The Message)

Character Agreement I agree to guard my name, my family name and Gods name so that Gods love is expressed through me. (I John 4:7) I agree to always be my best and do my best in schoolwork, housework and other work because Colossians 3:23 says Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men. (NIV) I agree to be cooperative and be a peacemaker because the Bible says that the peacemakers are blessed. (Matthew 5:9) I agree to respect myself, others and the property of others. In doing this, I am living out the Golden Rule in Matthew 7:12 "Here is a simple, rule-of-thumb guide for behavior: Ask yourself what you want people to do for you, then grab the initiative and do it for them. (The Message) I agree to always remain on task so that I can have free time to relax later. I agree to work to the best of my ability and leave an area I used BETTER than I found it. Work hard, and you will be a leader; be lazy, and you will end up a slave. (Proverbs 12:24) I agree to be considerate when approaching others. I will verify that they are available (not focused on a task, on the phone or talking to someone else) before I begin talking. I agree to ask my question in a quiet voice as to not disturb the others from accomplishing their tasks. I agree not to rock on the chairs. I agree not to make rude remarks; put downs, or disruptive noises or smells. I agree not to hit, push, or engage in any other type of horseplay. Initials________
