REMARKS ON THE HERITAGE OF KONSTANTIN PRESLAVSKI

(ON THE BASES OF UKRAINIAN MATERIALS FROM THE 16TH CENTURY)

Summary

The writings concerning the genre of the Homilary Gospel (Jevanhelije uccytelnoje) in
Ukrainian lands became very popular in the late sixteenth century. These original works, from
the point of view of their structure, imitate the oldest Slavic example of this type of collections
completed by Konstantin Preslavski.

One manuscript of these new Homilary Gospels can be found in Budapest in the Szchnyi
National Library. This article examines the orthographical system of this text from 1588. The
results prove the existence of the Middle Bulgarian influence wich, however, was not so strong as
it was noticed in the Szeged Minea.
