Performance Task for Lesson 6.6-6.

A Ferris wheel 100 feet tall, has 20 spokes and a diameter of 88 feet

a. The circumference of the diameter would 276.32in because you have to the circumference formula which is pi times diameter or radius. b. If the car travels four complete revolutions then the Ferris wheel traveled 1105.28in because one revolution is the circumference of the circle so toy would multiply the circumference times four. c. The lengths of the arc between the spokes are 13.861in because you would use the formula for Arc length which is Measure of arc/360(circumference). d. The area of the Ferris is 6079.04in2 because you would you would use the area for formula which is pi times radius squared. e. The area of the sector is 303.952in2 because you would use the formula for area of a sector which is Measure of arc/360(area) f. Since I am trying to find the distance between me and my friend I can use 3x-8 for Car 19x 2x+8 for Car 15, 4x+16 for Car 12 where my friend is located, and 3x+14 for Car 2. (3x-8) (2x+8) = (4x+16) (3x+14) 6x^2+8x-64= 12x^2+104x+224 X= 12, or 4. Or if I used Theorem 6.18 in lesson 6.6 (3x-8)^2= (2x+8)(4x+16) X= 112.5685, -0.5685
