JOB DESCRIPTION

District SIG Coordinator


SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The District SIG Coordinator, in conjunction with the school leader and staff, will be responsible for the timely implementation of the time-line activities as set forth in this Transformational plan. The District SIG Coordinator will need to collaborate with personal from the Michigan Department of Education, External Providers, professional development coordinators, coaches and other identified parties to assure the plan is implemented with fidelity. It will be necessary for the District SIG Coordinator to be versed in technology, data collection and analysis to provide the proper oversight in this process.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree-Preferably in the area of Communications or Marketing Experience with grant coordination ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: District SIG Coordinator must have the ability to perform the following job duties and responsibilities on a regular and consistent basis: Gather data annually and longitudinally to assess student achievement and program effectiveness targets. Systematically reviews success on the achievement of the targets to provide feedback to the schools for instructional decision-making and to monitor student learning. Conduct a comprehensive, internal, data-based evaluation of the districts performance and make changes based upon the results. Monitor school to assure improved outcomes for students Ensure that leaders are involved in the improvement of instruction, highly visible in the schools, and educate and engage the school board on powerful instruction. Develop extensive support systems to address all students needs including academic, social and cultural. Collect perception data from staff, parents, students and other stakeholders in the district. Assure that all major decisions for planning, monitoring, and evaluation for school improvement are made collaboratively with any staff member impacted by the decision included in the process. The district annually reviews policies and procedures to determine whether any revisions are required. Establish and implement, a comprehensive assessment system, providing longitudinal and current data, aligned with clearly defined student performance measures, evaluated annually, and yielding information which is reliable, valid and bias free. Implement a system-wide framework for using multiple sources of disaggregated data to inform strategies to close the achievement gap. Provide timely and accurate information that is meaningful and useful to district and school leaders, teachers and other stakeholders in understanding student

performance, district and school effectiveness, and the impact of improvement efforts on student achievement. Select external partners to assist with the intervention model selected Ensure that district has evidence that the LEA has the capacity to use funding appropriately and related support will be provided to ensure the school is able to implement fully and effectively the selected intervention. Provide meeting agendas to show that show turnaround efforts were discussed at community meetings Monitor budget that includes appropriate personnel and activities to support the turnaround efforts. Approves expenditures according to the approved SIG budget. Attend weekly scheduled staff meetings Collaborate with coworkers Communicate pertinent information to administration and staff Respond to school-related phone calls within twenty four hours of the time the call was made Respond to administrative requests in a timely manner Respect the confidentiality of students in the classroom, in discussions with coworkers, and in discussions with parents of other students Maintain documentation of work completed, conferences held, etc. as required by the administration Other duties as assigned by the administration
