Ifalinkcouldbemadebetweenthetwo,it wouldprovidemuchmoresoundevidencetoevaluatetheimpactthatsharkattackshaveontourismin CapeTown. TestingnotonlythelocationoftheGreatWhiteSharks,butalsotheirbehavior(particularly inthepresenceofhumanbeings)wouldbeastepforward,ifsuchtestscouldbeconceivedand implemented. Inadditiontomoreandhigherqualityquantitativeinformation,thisinvestigationcouldbe improvedthroughthecollectionofmorevariedqualitativedata. Onemajorsourceofdatathatis glaringlymissingfromthisinvestigationistheopinionoftouriststhemselves. Bydevelopinga questionnaireandinvitingtouriststoCapeTowntofillitout,wecouldlearnmuchmoreabouttheir mindsetandthepotentialimpactthatbothSharkDivingandsharkattackshaveonthedecisionsthat theymakewithregardstotourisminthecity. Finally,thefieldworkquestionitselfcanbeimproved. AfterhavingcompletedthisinvestigationIvecometorealizethattheyresearchquestionlimitsthe investigationtotourism,whichisabroadtopicarea.
