Current unit: Patricia Polacco Author study. Read to students from a Patricia Polacco book, completed a graphic organizer together, Students partner read another Polacco book and completed a character sketch. Assisted students with selecting books for checkout Taught 2nd grade class. Current unit: Fun with Literacy. Read two books about snow fun. Kids drew pictures of snow characters to be added to winter bulletin board. Assisted students in selecting books for checkout Taught Pre-K class. Looking at illustrations. We read two snow books, looked at illustrations in those books and others we have read over the last few classes to see how the illustrations were made. Helped students select books for home. Reviewed budget templates for upcoming budget process Taught 3rd grade. Fun with literacy. Story telling using wordless books. Together we read the Lion and the Mouse by Jerry Pinkney, adding voice and ideas from the children. We completed a graphic organizer together using an online tool from Readwritethink.com. Students then chose their own wordless book to read and wrote characteristics of main character on sticky note (will be used next week to make character sketch on same online tool.) Assisted students in selecting books for checkout. Taught Kindergarten. Fun with winter. Read Bright Snow, White Snow. Talked about the Caldecott award and what it means. Read Another snow book. Taught Kindergarten class: Unit of Inquiry: How We Organize Ourselves: Communities. Today we looked at 2 books about homes around the world and students drew a picture of their favorite kind of home. Later these will be turned into pages in a pop-up book about homes. We use the Super 3 research model during this process. (Collaborative unit plan) 5th grade PYP exhibition group. Students came to do research on their chosen topics. I worked with my group to determine questions and helped with research using our databases. Students use the Big 6 research model throughout the exhibition process, which lasts approx 4 months. Its the cumulative project for students in the PYP program. Created 3 bulletin boards to highlight what kids have been up to in the library (literacy activities)

ELC class came for story time and book check out Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You. After reading, we made a short video of the kids making different sounds, like in the book. Taught 5th Grade Class. Shared a Seuss story and went to Seussville.com to look at parts of the site. Also reviewed citing sources using EasyBib.com. Taught 1st Grade. Read All Because a Little Bug Went Ka-choo by Seuss. Talked about cause and effect. Then read If You Give a Cat a Cupcake and also talked about cause and effect. Students used the active board flipchart made earlier to review cause and effect found in the story. Read and checked out books Created an interactive bulletin board for Dr. Seuss and pimped my old book truck to promote Seuss books (its cute) Put together pop-up book from Kindergarten Homes Unit and did some Titlewave searches from teacher requests Taught 4th grade class: Wrapped up our Patricia Polacco unit by having kids write a short reflection on http://www.wallwisher.com. After book checkout, we came back and did a read aloud with Seuss and visited the Seussville website. Taught 2nd grade class. Read If I Rand the Zoo by Seuss Then played Seuss Bingo. Kids received Seuss bookmarks. Read and checked out books. Taught Pre-K. Read All Because a Little Bug Played Seuss Tic-Tac-Toe on the interactive bulletin board. Read and selected books for home.
