CORROSION RESISTANT GUIDE FOR 17-4 PH STAINLESS STEEL

The listing below is provided as a guide in determining the acceptability of 17-4 PH stainless steel as a shaft/stem material for rotary and linear valves when handling the fluids and gases that are shown. Refer to the first page of Bulletin 10 MC 20 (Recommended Materials of Construction) for a complete explanation of the ratings that follow and the basis on which this data is presented.

As stated in Bulletin 10 MC 20, Although B ratings may often be satisfactory for valve bodies, recommended ball and stem or disc and shaft materials usually carry an A rating.
