EVERLASTING INSIGHT

I served wholeheartedly the society,

The nation and the humanity with transparency

In the last two decades of my social and spiritual life, we have served the society, the nation and the Humanity with transparency.
the last few days, the news that is being floated through the Media, I humbly want to respond to them. First, trusts that invited foreign donations are covered under the Foreign Currency Regulation Act (FCRA), and our two trusts - Divya Yoga Mandir and Patanjali Yogapeeth Trust have been receiving donations under the same Act and no violation of the FCRA has been committed. As far as the unit of Divya Yoga Mandir, Divya Pharmacy's financial operations are concerned; no violation of any regulation has been committed. Since Patanjali Yogapeeth does not manufacture any medicine, so no question of selling them in foreign country arises. Since there has not been any direct alliance between me or any trust and any company then linking them with me or any trust is unreasonable. In the last two decades of my social and spiritual life, we have served the society, the nation and the Humanity with complete transparency. Since my birth, we have not done anything that brings disrepute to the nation, to the religion and the culture, forget stealing money, committing any crime or misappropriating funds. Rather, with our selfless service, movements like spreading Yoga, Spirituality and Swadeshi, we have brought honour to the nation, to our culture and our religion. We have unfurled the Indian flag and spread Indian-ness all over the world. The government can not sabotage this movement by besmirching our reputation. We have already started the second-leg of movement from the historical place Jhansi. The government is extremely scared of any movement of the people. First they had accused Anna Hazareji of being corrupt, so the question they raised that how can he fight against corruption. Anna's team members were also accused of being involved in corruption, committing murder, kidnapping and other crimes. So far, the government has not accused me of such crimes, I thank the government for this. I want to put a few questions to the government through Media. Is it a crime to raise voices for bringing economic independence by eradicating corruption, bringing change to the system and bringing back black money worth 400 lakh crore rupees? We never related poverty with the religion. Rather we believed in the philosophy of Yato Abhudayanih Shreyassiddhih Sa Dharmah and based on that we talked of material and spiritual development. So is it a crime to talk of economic development of an individual? Have we committed any crime by launching a Yoga movement to eradicate diseases and drug-addiction? Some of the corrupt people, drug mafia, foreign companies and countries, where this black money is stashed away and those who do not like an ascetic leading the nation and the rise of Indian culture on the world stage, all such people are conspiring to malign me and my pious movement. Is it because I was born to illiterate parents in a farming family? Is an ordinary man not allowed to speak the truth? If I am wrong then the media, the society and the government can prosecute me. But if I am on the path to truthfulness and engaged into the service to the nation and humanity then I would expect that everybody supports the truth. The faith and dedication of millions of people is aligned with this movement. So, I humbly want to say to all my critics and detractors, that by conspiring to malign me, they had better not hurt people's sentiments by raising unfounded and false charges against me.

and Ayurveda are great contributions of the Rishis. Together, both these have given a new dimension to the healthy living in the medical sciences. People all over the world are adopting Yoga and getting the benefits from attending Yoga camps organized by Venerable Baba Ramdev. Aurveda is a fully successful medication technique, which has been in existence for millions of years. Ayurveda completly protects the health of an individual and it eradicates the disease of a patient. Patanjali Yogapeeth is engaged into the mission of treating people through Yoga and Ayurveda.

Yoga

ndian culture owes its greatness to Yoga, Philosophy, Ayurveda and other such contributions to the society. Ayurveda and Yoga have tremendous potential to treat all the diseases. Ayurvedic treatment carries all the qualities and opportunities that inspire people to live a disciplined life. The welfare of a patient must be supreme. The day this fact is accepted in the field of medical sciences, the struggle among various medical treatments will stop. Yoga and Ayurveda are systematic modes of medication, while allopathic system is only symptomatic. This is the difference between the ancient mode of medication and modern medication. Patients must be given an option to choose the best medication that suits his or her needs. Some of the powerful pharmaceutical companies, forgetting the welfare of patients, in the name of treating people, in fact, inflict pain on them. All the traditional medication systems like Yoga-Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Unani, Acupuncture, Homoeopathy and other such are being attacked by spreading misinformation about them. Dhanvantri is believed to be the healer of gods and the god of medication systems. That is why, for all the medical practitioners, the day of Dhanteras, worshipping Dhanvantri on this day is very significant. That day people seek to stay healthy. Bhagavan Dhanvantri is believed to be the founder and the god of medical sciences. The origin of Ayurveda is also believed to be from Brahma. Description of Dhanvantri is similar to Vishnu. According to the Sushruta Treatise, Sushruta learnt medical sciences from Kashiraj Divodas Dhanvantri. Ayurveda is also considered to be an Upaveda. Venerable Swaniji has accepted the clinical parameters of modern medical system, along with Yoga. If all the ancient medical treatment methods are concomitant then this fact should be accepted. Whatever number of ancient medica-

tion systems exist, they all have purpose to treat people and maintain their health. If we happen to get the saem from Yoga and Ayurveda, then there should not be any objection to it. Ayurveda considers human body as a biological unit co-existing with the universe, rater than an independent and complex creation. Ayurveda considers diseases as a manifestation of an imbalance of physical, emotional, psychic and spiritual aspects of an individual. In the Western countries also people, disappointed with Allopathy are adopting Ayurveda. Yoga means living in the present. Ayurveda is like connecting to the universe, the centre or the psyche. Venerable Swamiji is re-establishing Yoga, Ayurveda and India's ancient tradition. In the year 1995, Swamji laid the foundation of Divya Yoga Mandir Trust for establishing equality in our country and the world by strengthening national integrity and religious harmony by completely eradicating social evils arising from caste, religion, colour, sect and language. Swamiji is binding together a country, fractured along the lines of caste, religion, community, race and gender. Not only in towns, cities, states but also in hundreds of countries, Swamiji is organizing camps for teaching Yoga and treating through Yoga, for the welfare of society. In these camps, they are trained on the basis of Ashtang Yoga. People from every state, every section, every community and religion are benefiting with out any discrimination. In the journey of the trust, Divya Yoga Mandir was standing tall as a big challenge. Patanjali Yogapeeth was a combined effort and a goal. It has fulfilled its goal. To conclude, I like to wish all the people in the country and the world a very happy Vijaydashmi and Dipawali.

Acharya Balakrishna Editor, Yog Sandesh

From yoga revolution to economical freedom

Complete change in system is the core issue

Main three issues of Bharat Swabhiman
To bring Rs 400 lakh crore black money back to the nation, to uproot corruption and to follow the principle of economic liberation for social and economical justice to everyone.

Economical liberation
Our country got religious and political freedom but is still waiting for economical liberation. As a result 99 percent of the people are subjected to injustice. Government is looting common man with imposition of taxes and foreign companies are victimizing, taking away our wealth. The multi-national companies are looting

When all taxes would be scrapped, with only 2 percent transaction tax, cost of all items would come down drastically. The saving would be more and prosperity would increase.

national assets. Common man is subjected to lose in the name of education, medicine and even price inflation. Even in budget presentation, total partisan attitude clearly reflects. Around 400 lakh crore as black money has already been looted from the nation and the crime is still continuing unabated. We, the people of India have to force the Government to abolish 32 percent of tax and replace it with imposition of just 2 percent of transaction tax. This would ensure 30 lakh crore revenue earning to the nation annually and also effectively control problems like price rise, poverty, corruption, black money and counterfeit currency. The Indian currency would be the strongest in the world and the nation would emerge as a super-power. The principle of economical liberalization would be the base for change in the system with everyone getting social and economical justice. With removal of almost 99 percent interference of leaders and government system, all would be happy. India or China, whoever would take lead in imposition of new single transition system would be the next superpower in the world. Thus, to emerge as a super power, the new tax system has to be made effective as soon as possible. And before Europe and America declare them bankrupt, black money stashed by Indians needs to be brought back. If decision is not taken timely, it would be a great loss to the nation. The new tax system or justified economical system or economical liberalization has four major benefits.

problem could be reduced.

Benefit number 2
Everybody would have enough money to live respectable life. When all taxes would be abolished with only 2 percent tax, many items would be much cheaper. People would save more and due to reduction in tax, tax paying people would have to pay less.

Benefit number 3
The nation would emerge as a power hub. With withdrawal of currency above Rs 50 and 2 percent transaction tax, the black money prevalent in our economical system would be curtailed. Problem of tax evasion would be solved and the citizen could lead honest and respectable life. All the wealthy nations, companies, people and non-resident Indians (NRIs) would invest in India. Our FDI share would increase and India would ultimately a tax heaven nation, with principles of honesty and truthfulness. Money from the world would flow towards India. The black money deposited in foreign banks, with is otherwise inaccessible legally would flow towards the nation. India would be the biggest economical centre for the world. India would be much powerful as compared to collective strength of the rest of the world. The value of our currency would be either equal or more than dollar and pound. Our nation, citizen and currency would earn respect in the world. Due to our wrong economical policy and faulty legal system, we are weak and wretched before the world. With withdrawal of bigger currency and cash transaction, all sources of corruption would be blocked and corruption free nation would ultimately be a super power.

Due to faulty economic policy and wrong legal system, we are weak before the world. Withdrawal of big currency and cash transaction would block all resources of corruption.

Benefit number 1
Inflation would reduce. Items like gas, diesel, petrol have almost 50 percent and rest daily-need items have between 30-50 percent tax. Withdrawal of these taxes would reduce prices of gas, diesel and petrol by 40-50 percent and cycle, motor cycles, car, soap, shampoo, washing powder, sandals, shoes would be cheaper by 25-50 percent. The main four reasons for inflation are 1) excess taxation 2) reduction in production 3) enhancement of production cost and 4) hoarding. With change in existing system, inflation

Benefit number 4
All would have economical freedom and justice. The development projects and security schemes would have enough money. The natural question could emerge in mind that from where money would come for the seven charter of agenda of system change, as being highlighted in Bharat Swabhiman? The issues highContinuedpage 8

lighted include upliftment of rural sector, equal education opportunity, medical facility, water management, garbage management and state funding election. So here is the reply. According to Indian Reserve Bank, daily bank transaction in India is Rs 2.5 lakh crore and Rs 750 lakh crore annually. Imposing 2 percent transaction tax would earn Rs 15 lakh crore for the development. Withdrawal of notes bigger than Rs 50 notes and more would give instant solution to unaccounted money. The bank transaction would enhance by two times and hence tax amount would reach to Rs 30 lakh crore. Thus, there would be no dearth of money for the development schemes and projects. The burning problem of corruption would automatically solve with withdrawal of bigger currencies and big cash transaction. It is just impossible to hide or transport smaller currency in millions as a needle could be hidden but not the aero plane or an elephant.

We could belong to any religion, caste or society but our poverty has not been given by almighty but it is due to our leaders. Faulty tax policy and massive corruption in the developmental plans are basically responsible for it.

Main principles of economic freedom

1] Abolish all types of tax (except import tax and export duty), impose just 2 percent bank transaction tax and division of revenue between centre, state, local body and bank in ratio of 0.7:0.6:0.35:0.35. 2] Withdrawal of all notes with bigger denomination above Rs 50 and no tax on poor, who use small denomination currency. 3] The Government has to make a law that cash payment and transaction over Rs 2,000 or Rs 5,000 would be illegal. All transactions in shops and business establishments would be by cheques, draft or debit cards.

Some questions related to economical freedom

Question- With longer supply chain, what would be the maximum tax levied on various products? Answer- Any product reaches customer via producer, whole-seller and retailer and maximum of 3 to 4 persons are involved in the process. Thus, for first year the tax would be

6-8 percent and later could be reduced to 3-4 percent. Question - At present, farmers and employees earning upto Rs 2 lakh does not fall under tax bracket but after imposition of transition tax whether they would also have to pay tax? Answer - First thing is that each person would be saving 50 percent of tax on the products as the tax would be merely 2 percent. Farmers would not have to pay tax on wheat, rice and sugarcane but the buyer has to pay 2 percent as tax instead. The transaction tax would be on the buyer and not seller. And when tax would be abolished on most of the items, farmers would have 30 to 50 percent saving on fertilizers, tractors, diesel and gas. Question - How much tax businessmen, employees and other professional persons would have to pay yearly? Answer - In the present tax system, VAT is 4-12 percent, excise tax 16 percent, service tax 10 percent, income tax 30 percent, stamp duty 10 percent and other similar taxes like road tax, toll tax, house tax, water tax and education cess and hence, the total goes to 30 to 50 percent. With imposition of transaction tax, total taxation would be even less than 2 percent which would reduce to just 1 percent after sometime. Thus, the new taxation system would benefit poor and wealthy alike. Question - In the present tax system, how much percentage of GDP is earned with tax collection? Answer - In America, it is almost 29 percent, UK 39 percent, Swedan 54 percent and in India it is around 12 lakh crore, which is 18 percent of the GDP. The tax revenue is generated after spending crores on Income tax department and with imposition of 32 percent tax. In the new tax system, first year, the revenue generation would be at least 15 lakh crore which would nearly double next year. With abolition of black money and corruption from the economic system, our economy would be the strongest in the world with maximum job opportunities in the world. In the proposed system, tax collected from the villages would be spend in the development

Page 11

of villages as the flow of money would be from lower to upper direction. In the present system, which is very impractical, money flows from top to bottom and with several leak, the person at lower strata gets nothing. Question - In the new system, what is probability of tax evasion? Answer - In the new tax system there would be 99 percent check on tax evasion as the money would be deposited in the bank, only after deduction of tax. The ideas of economical freedom and total revolution are not based on imagination or dreams but on fact, truth and reasons. If any economist, politician or thinker proves it wrong, he would be rewarded with millions of rupees. The set of dishonest persons have looted the nation mercilessly, with the support of drug mafia, foreign and multi-national companies and active involvement of the people, who have stashed millions of rupees in foreign banks. They dislike a saint trying to restore the lost glory of the nation. They have collectively hatched a conspiracy to defame the saint and his campaign. It is just because he has taken birth in a common peasant family with illiterate parents. Does a holy man or the common man have no right to speak out the truth?

would produce generation of children with character, who are patriot and not traitors. We should adopt the education system of Germany, France, China and Japan where education is being given in their own language so that children of labor, village man, poor also get equal opportunity to run for the race of doctor, engineer, scientist or IAS and IPS officer. We are not against modernization, development, science or technology but there should be education of science and technology in regional languages, parallel to English.

Medical facility to all

Nearly 84 crore people in the nation are deprived of basic development facilities but they have right to get free treatment in hospitals. Does only wealthy person has the right to live happily? In the country 30-35 percent people could get treatment of which 50 percent had to borrow money or mortgage their land or house to foot medical bills. Still over 70 percent people could get medical treatment in Indian medical system. Our domestic medical system could cure 90-99 percent people and there shall be an elaborated research on it.

Election reforms
State funding election, essential voting, simultaneous election and direct election to the post of the Prime Minister are the vital factors, which could ensure entry of spotless and efficient people in Assembly and Parliament. Thus, the nation would be saved from the clutches of criminals largely. In Parliament, competent people would make laws in the national interest and the tax money would be spent for the development of the nation, with full honesty.

To impart justice to villages for the upliftment of poor India

The main objective behind the campaign is to ensure participation of village men, poor, labor, artisan, dalit and farmers rational to their population with proper valuation of their labor. But all such hard working people have been categorized under untrained category, which is the shameful part in free India. Our ancestors were basically from villages. The soul of our country still lies in the villages. We have to uproot the wall between shining India and poor India.

India could claim to be super-power in future but many people are still deprived of health services. 84 crore people still did not get proper treatment. Our plan is to provide health service to everyone.

National Management system

Water management, waste management, e-governance management, national assets management and population control policy could ensure transparent and justified administrative system for the all-round development of the nation.

Abolition of black laws

Land acquisition system should be scrapped with immediate effect. Also total liquor prohibition shall be made effective to save the nation. Likewise, following the dreams of Mahatma Gandhi, it is necessary to establish the rule of law, scrapping or making suitable amendments in 34,735 criminal codes, implemented in British rule. Better legal system and economical policy could meet challenge of violence, crime and poverty effectively. India needs revolutionary system in economical and legal area.

Why need of change in system?

Unfortunately we are following British system even in Independent India and 1 percent of the influential and corrupt people are looting our national assets. 10 percent people are being benefited partially in the present ruling system and rest 90 percent are subjected to severe injustice and suppression. Question - How the three issues of Bharat Swabhiman, economic liberalization or change in system would be implemented in the nation. Answer 1] Present central Government - In democracy, parliament is empowered to take decisions in this connection and hence, the Government shall do it. 2] Opposition - If present Government fails to deliver, entire opposition shall join hands to put pressure on the Government, raising the issue from parliament to road. The opposition shall block parliament proceedings till Government does not apply these policies. And if still, Government refused to make changes, the opposition shall go to the public in next election. The electorate should give majority to them after which, they could implement such policies. 3) Public - In democracy, it is widely known that `public support ensures victory`. Democracy does not allow dictatorship. Every citizen- a village man, poor, laborer,
10&YOG SANDESH&October 2011

farmer, peasant, Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian shall discuss this system change. Old people could discuss it on `chaupals`, youths use face-book, blogs, SMS, e-mails to spread message. A common man could do it in farms, houses, industries, schools, colleges and in other organizations wherever possible. He could discuss these economic liberalization, economic democracy, economic justice and system change and create an atmosphere in its support. All electorate could then decide to support the party, which would ensure these changes for economic liberalization and restore our rights. They shall also decide to vote for the party or candidate, which safeguard our spiritual traditions. All political parties would have to include it in their election and make relevant laws in the parliament. We shall not forget that Hindu, Muslims or anyone is not poor due to his caste or religion, faith or due to any sin in previous births. But they are poor due to wrong economical policies and legal system and hence subjected to injustice and suppression. Some corrupt, dishonest and treacherous elements have looted 400 lakh crore as black money and still loot is continuing. And on the other hand over 84 crore people are forced to live life of abject poverty, hunger, distress and insult. It is really time to wake-up and if it is not done now, then when it would be done? Every year over 10 lakh crore is being spent on treatment of various diseases, Rs 10 lakh crore in intoxicants and drugs and another Rs 10 lakh crore being taken away by the multi-national companies. If we do not woke-up now, then when?

British Government drafted suppressing legal system to rule Indians. They earned benefits for themselves, keeping reins in their hands. And unfortunately, same legal system is prevalent in the nation. How such system, which was meant for suppression could benefit our society.

What workers shall do?

1) Perform `yog-sewa`- A worker shall contribute 1 to 2 hours for the service of the nation and promote yoga to make people disease free and to save the nation from the onslaught of the foreign nation to help people in nation building,

YS_OCT_ENG-6.qxd

2)

character building and personality building. Or a person could become full-time worker and help elevating standard of 121 crore Indians. He could also inspire others to get associated with the sacred work of character building and nation building. Follow three conditions - Adopt yoga, swadeshi and hold selfrespect. A person performing yoga is free of diseases, intoxicants, illiteracy and other such evils. Adopting swadeshi ensures that money of the nation remains in the country, which would help in country becoming prosperous and world leader. The condition in rural areas would also improve. Discuss the issue of Bharat Swabhiman regularly at new places with different people and build public opinion and atmosphere at top priority. Perform meditation - Daily in the morning remember god, mother earth, parents, ancestors, saints and seers and teachers and see yourself in their personality. This would help you in becoming a true son of god, mother India and your parents. A person would be free from laziness, illiteracy and confusion and would give energy, peace, satisfaction and happiness. If even one percent of people would keep this work of transformation at the top priority and work with burning desire, the work of nation building would complete at any cost. In my opinion, there is no work bigger than it. I pray almighty to ignite flame of change and transformation in the heart of every Indian. Unfortunate part is that even after 64 years of the independence we could not think beyond `roti`. The basic nine needs are meal, shelter, education, health, security, power, water and road. But the cunning leaders of the nation conspired so that a person could not think beyond `roti`.

even become full-time and active worker.

Some burning questions to be raised by the nation

Whether black money of Rs 400

lakh crore, taken away from the nation and stashed in the foreign banks should not be brought back? Should corruption not come to an end? When the development of the nation could take place with 2 percent transaction tax and price inflation, poverty, corruption and black money could be controlled, why loot in the name of tax shall be not be abolished? Whether all shall not get equal right for education and treatment? Whether national policy and solid strategy for water management, waste management, national assets management and population control shall not be drafted? Whether injustice to the farmers due to land acquisition law should not be redressed? Whether farmers, poor, artisans, dalit and farmers shall not get participation in the Government proportionate to their population and discrimination in valuation of their labor, come to an end.

Even after 64 years of Independence, a large population is deprived of basic amenities. The system needs to be changed. All shall have equal facilities with narrowing down difference between special and common man.

Your contribution in the transformation for national service

Take out one hour daily or a day in a week for making public opinion towards this change. A person could

If you also want that this injustice, falsehood and sin be uprooted, participate in the campaign with full strength and thus contribute to save the nation.

A letter from

Baba to Volunteers
Strength lies with the organization. All the volunteers of Bharat Swabhimaan are a source of strength for me. Their organized strength is the only force which is capable in reforming our country and the society. Make the organization stronger and apply your full strength in building of your nation.
offer my greetings from the bottom of my heart to all my fellow saints, associates and volunteers. I have been in public life and have been engaged in service to the people for about two decades. In the sacred work of building of our nation and enhancing character of the people, all of you have worked relentlessly day in and day out. It is because of your sincere efforts, we have successfully served over 100 creres of people by the means of Yoga, Spiritualism and Ayurveda and a historical message of awakening could reach to the masses. No doubt all of you my dear brothers have been highly instrumental in achieving these objectives but at the same time we should not forget the contributions of lakhs of women our mothers and sisters who relentlessly rendered their services for achieving these objectives. We should not underestimate their efforts and their participation in the activities like regularly attending yoga classes, membership campaigns and in the work what they were sought to do. For us, they are like Sita, Savitri, Saraswati and Lakshmi. If at some places, there are some shortcomings on parts of our sisters, I am sure they will sincerely manage to do away with them. It is an undeniable fact that in some states and some districts, the role of our sisters has been extremely commendable. My main objective of writing a letter of this kind is to convey that I see my image in you my dear brothers

and sisters. You are my spiritual heir. All of you, big and small workers of my movement, are my strength. I don't want to see any split in my strength. I want it to be strong and organized. It is my humble request to all of you that you don't be relented please maintain honesty and purity in your work and my special thanks for your achievements that you have attained till now. There is an important guideline for all of you. For every bank account of our Bharat Swabhimaan Trust, we have appointed two general secretaries who have been entrusted with the responsibility to work as in charge of the accounts one brother and one sister will be appointed to look after one account. It is very important to ensure the endorsement of a sister on the papers of every account besides that of a brother. All major five constituents of our organization- Patanjali Yoga Samaiti, Mahila Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Bharat Swabhimaan, Yuva Bharat and Kisan Panchayats- should work in coherence. As decided in the meeting of national executive of our organization, we have to exhort most of our energy on expansion of Yoga classes in every village, every Tehseel, every ward committees in towns and conducting free yoga classes. All of us have work together to organize committees in every village and district by December and I request you all to apply our full strength to attain this goal. I am confident that in every district, at least 100 teachers, our brothers and sisters and some active activists of our organization will definitely contribute their time and energy to fulfill the target of our sacred mission. If our activist and volunteers are dedicated, then financial resources and other resources are easily available to complete our mission. I have always praised my volunteers who are relentlessly working for our mission in the states like Goa, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Orissa, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Assam and Karnataka. Their contributions have been extremely commendable despite adverse circumstances in

those states. I have always felt their dedication and seriousness for our mission. In this context, I would especially like to mention the efforts made by the in charge of our mission in Jharkhand, Bhai Dileep. Despite adverse circumstances, he successfully carried out the mission of public awareness in total of 24 districts of the state. His courage, stamina dedication and courage are really commendable. He has been organizing yoga march across the state. He visited every district of the state with fifty volunteers and in association with the local volunteers; he formed Gram Samiti (Village Committees) and carried out free yoga classes in every district of the state. His efforts are praiseworthy and greatest source of inspiration for other volunteers. Dileep Bhai has set a target to spread yoga and message of Bharat Swabhimaan in every village of the state by November this year. I want to see the similar dedication in every saint and my brothers and sisters. I am sure that all of you will perform your duties for spreading yoga and for the service of this nation with full of dedication. At last, please accept the greetings from me, Acharya Balkrishnaji and crores of saints. I wish, may almighty-God, Allah, Bhagwan, Wahe Guru- endow the blessings and encouragement to us. I wish peace and prosperity to all of you - Swami Ramdev

1] We are sending a booklet titled "Complete revolution by the means of Economic freedom" to all our volunteers. I am of the view that booklets like new edition of "Reality of Black money", "Complete revolution by the means of Economic freedoms" and "India of our dreams" must reach to every village. 2] The cost prices of these booklets are Re 1, Rs 5 and Rs 7 respectively. Our volunteers can receive donation for these booklets and can get them from Haridwar. For this, they can directly contact to "Communication Division".

several and the Parliament finally admitted that CBI ,mentdoes top investigating agencies, the governBaba Ramdev not own any company, land or money. It has also been agreed by them that the companies in which Acharya Balkrishanaji is director, are functioning only to serve the people and this country. The companies were set up after realizing that there are many works of national interest which are not possible to be carried out by the means of the trusts. Given our campaign for proliferation of Patanjali Aurveda and Vedic culture to serve the people of rural areas, farmers, labourers and poor, we set up Vedic Broadcasting and other companies. Our purpose for setting up these companies was not to build up a business empire or earn profit. Our purpose behind them was to serve the humanity. The financial sources of these companies are the magnanimity of our dedicated donors and bank loans. To serve the people, humanity, religion and our nation, we put ourselves at stake and borrowed money. We are serving crores of people witha view of selflessness.

What is black money?
The money, which has been earned by illegal mining, siphoning off money from development schemes of the government, bribing and evading taxes, and is sent to foreign shores, is black money. Black money is a national asset, which is owned by 121 crore Indians. In our country, there are 89 kinds of natural reserves of land resources, worth 20,000 lakh crore. Out of this reserve, about billions of rupees of worth of coal, iron, gas, petrol and diamond and other national assets like land, 2G, 3G spectrum and other scientific assets have been sold to corrupt and dishonest people and the money earned has been deposited in the country

The point to think is that these countries are considered to be the most developed ones; they are also under debt and that too huge debt. Who is financing this debt? When most of the countries of the world are under debt, then this huge sum of money is falling from the Moon or the Mars. If we were to believe renowned economists and institutions, then this money is black money only. And out of the total black money, Indians own half of it. Another interesting point is that the top ten countries borrow 115 lakh crore rupees every three months. Euro-Asia also borrows 57 lakh crore rupees every quarter. Debt incurred by other countries is rising every month. Wherefrom all this

money is coming from? Is it falling from the sky? Delving deep into this, we find that the money earned by our farmers, labourer, middle class businessmen, teachers, soldiers and others and paid taxes on them, the same money earned by sheer hard work was looted by corrupt people and sent to foreign countries. That is why a large section of our population, that is 84 crore people are living below the poverty line. The condition of children of this population is even worse. Every Indian must think it seriously that where are these countries bringing this money from? Is not this our hard earned money? And if it happens to be so, then how can this money be brought back? Above-mentioned data suggests that 15 countries of the world in the first three months of year 2011 borrowed foreign money worth 124 lakh crore rupees. So, they borrow about 500 lakh crore rupees of foreign debt. Renowned economists verify this fact, that the money borrowed by the US and other developed countries is, in fact, the money of the countries like India, which are rich in natural resources. The money sent to foreign countries does not stay in one country alone, but finds ways to keep circulating into other countries. India's black money, which was stashed away in Switzerland, is now circulating in Dubai, Singapore and Mauritius. This is no less interesting that, the amount of foreign debts, all the countries of the world incur is equivalent to the total GDP of these countries. At present, total GDP of all the countries is about 62 Trillion dollars and all the countries incur the same amount in domestic and foreign debt. So, out of this total 3,000 lakh crore rupees, India's share stands at 400 lakh crore rupees and another 100 lakh crore rupees are in circulation in the country. What could be more astonishing than

that, other developed countries grow on this black money and countries like India and other Asian countries starve? How shameful, unjustified and astonishing is it? According to Global Hunger Report, in India 13 people die every minute, 883 in an hour and 20,000 a day, due to hunger and malnutrition. The day India is rid of corruption and black money is brought back in the country, India's economy and currency would be so strong that one rupee will amount to 50 dollars and India will be the biggest economic power in the world. Even today, India's foreign debt amounts to only 0.24 trillion dollars and internal debt amounts to 0.9 trillion dollar. After India, the movement against black money would spread to other Asian countries. And then India and Asian nations would surpass US and Europe in development. So, the foreign debt incurred by developed countries is black money only. Every developing country needs this money back. Why would any developing country lend to other countries? If the black money is returned to the respective country then no country would be poor. Black money and corruption are the two biggest problems of the world.

But the Government did not wake-up and considered that the biggest threat to the security of the nation is Baba Ramdev. Recently, former chief of Intelligence Bureau (IB) had, on a television discussion disclosed that IB had well in advance alerted the central Government that terrorists could target Delhi but the Government deployed 80 percent of the IB officers behind Baba Ramdev, Anna Hazare, Kiran Bedi, Narendra Modi, Acharya Balkrishna, Arvind Kejriwal and other such persons.

Here is the present condition of intelligence agency in India.

facts against Anna Hazare so that he could be defamed. 2] The Intelligence Bureau has deployed 20 special teams behind Arvind Kejriwal. The Government keeps keen eye on people who are in contact with him. The Government is also examining all his documents. 3] Since last one year, many CBI teams have been assigned to chase Jagan Mohan Reddy, the son of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister late YS Rajshekhara Reddy, as he (Jagan Mohan Reddy) is revolting against Congress. CBI is working against him with full force and even raids were conducted in Rajkot to find something against him. 4] 90 percent officers of IB are deployed to find wrongdoings, if any, by the opposition party leaders. 5] In 2002, the Cabinet had approved the proposal to set-up National Investigating Agency (NIA) but it could be set-up in 2009. Still NIA does not have any office. 6] A total of 24 teams have been deployed behind Acharya Balkrishna and apparently, the Congress presumes him the biggest terrorist. So this is the condition of Congress and it is clear that whoever would raise voice against corruption and black money would be considered as the biggest enemy bigger than terrorists. And when the Government would deploy agencies behind them, who could provide intelligence input regarding explosions? Courtesy Janokti

Acharya Balkrishna
the Our body isofmotivated by and power praan (air) mind. It's the responsibility of praan to keep the body alive and active for the whole day. The development of the body from foetus till death is because of praan. According to the statement of a sage in Upnishad, praan has been placed ahead of ear, eye, sperm and all other parts of the body.

How does praan-power Conduct life?

bringing concentration and determination to achieve a goal. Controlling praan can control senses and mind of a person. The process of regulation of praan in 'yoga' shastra is called 'Pranayam'. If body is termed as the reservoir of grains, the air is the reservoir of praan. Actually, praan and mind are one in the body. There are changes in the body only, changes in praan and mind takes place accordingly. The inspiration of the body is though a praan itself, yet to give an end to process and desires, praan has been given many names. In this view, praan has been categorized from two to ten. In this note, five main and five subsidiaries of praan have been categorized. Five main categories of praan are- praan, anus, samaan, Wynn and Udan and five subsidiaries are- Naag, Koorm, Krikal, Dhananjay and Devdutt. Praan in the residing in the upper body maintains dynamism of our senses, lungs, heart, digestive system and respiratory system. Anus plays the role of a cleaner in our body. Stool, urine and air formed in the body passes out because of its activeness. Praan ensures the dynamic activity in the body part from heart to navel. It resides nearby navel. Liver, bowel, spleen and pancreas like many internal activities are controlled by it. Because of it, the energy from food is circulated in different parts of the body. Wynn, inherent in whole body, carries feelings to the mind through

e began singing holy songs in praise of God. When the demons saw, they marched to end his life. The demons were devastated fighting with the praan in the same way as a cob disperses after striking with a stone. All Gods became victorious under the shadow of praan. Those who know the secret of praan can make themselves winner against devils. The saint of Chhandogya Upnishad asserts the fact. It is possible for a person to live without senses, but not without praan. The weakness of praan-power makes the mind and senses incapable. The height of self-confidence depends upon the degree of praan-power. The energy of life determines the potential and resistance of our body. The whole body from lungs, heart to senses receives energy and remains healthy because of life. Every wish can be fulfilled by the energy of praan. The praan plays an important role in

nerves and they in turn send signals to different parts of the body to act accordingly. It provides activity and energy to muscles, fibres and nerves. Udan resides from throat to the upper body part. It directs, motivates and energizes and ensures proper conduct of the mind. There is a thought that at the time of death, our body goes into other world or enters into womb because of udan only. Till these components carry out their activities in sound manner, our body remains active and works with full energy and enthusiasm. But if a person indulges in illegal activities, eats unhealthy items and has ill-thoughts, then his digestive system gets affected and there starts obstruction in proper conduct of body processes. The process to purify impure praan is called 'pranayam'. 'Pranayam' removes all obstacles that come into the way of proper conduct of bodily processes. It makes the body process simple and smooth. 'Pranayam' is that tool which converts a rusted body into energetic, lively and dynamic. 'Pranayam' is a medicine. The purpose of 'pranayam' is to produce as much energy, protection, conduction and utilization as it can. That person who utilizes its capacity will surely be a successful man in his life. As praan pervades the whole body, it controls and provides motivation to the body processes. So, to make the 'pranayam' effective, it is necessary to know the structure of the whole body. Even if we don't know the whole structure, atleast we should make an effort to inform ourselves about lungs, whom praan makes direct connection with. There are two lungs- left and right in the body. The lung on the right side is comparatively heavier and broader than the lung on the left side. The air after entering into the body through the nose passes into throat and then gets divided into two parts to enter into left and right lungs. There are minute hairs into the throat that facilitate the passes of air into

'Pranayam' makes the journey of our life simple by removing mental and physical pollution.
lungs. They are so sensitive that as soon as dust or any dirty material enters into, they through them out of the body through sneeze or cough. The amazing structure of lungs helps in the process of blood purification. There are innumerable minute air bags and blood circulating cells present in lungs. Their walls are so less spacious that only gases can passes through them. The blood circulating in cells takes oxygen from air bags and throws out carbon dioxide from the body in the form of respiration. Thus, the blood flowing into the lungs get purified continuously. The process of respiration is maintained by the lungs. While taking air into the body, the muscles of the chest expand to let the air bag fill oxygen into it. While the air is thrown out, the air bag, lungs and muscles of the chest contract. It is important to be noted that the air bag doesn't throw all impure airs from the body, but it retains a large portion of them. The more our lifestyle becomes busy, the more the air starts getting retained into the body. The retention of more impure air into lungs leads to many ill-effects. 'Pranayam' provides a stark solution to this problem. While conducting 'pranayam', we take in deep breath and the air goes into the lungs. In the same manner, we breathe out, so that the impure air present in the lungs goes out from the body.

A letter to Baba
Pranayam sure treatment of many ailments
Most revered Swamiji Maharaj, Seek blessings touching your feet.

Swamiji, My name is Gita. I am living in Baidhan, district Singrauli in Madhya Pradesh. I am exercising Pranayam since past three years. The exercise has helped me in the treatment of migraine problem, which was troubling me since past five years. I was also suffering from knee pain since past three years and pranayam and exercises helped me, to get reprieve of the problems. One day, while doing kapalbhati, I suddenly felt pain in veins as some long-time blood blockage has opened-up and thereafter, the pain disappeared. I was also undergoing similar pain from shoulder to index finger. Lifting hand was very painful and even if someone touches index finger, it would have deep pain. I decided to get cured with the help of pranayam. Though, I brought medicines from the doctor but it was kept untouched. But I religiously exercised kapalbhati and anulom-vilom for halfan-hour separately twice a day. And as a result, my pain vanished in six months. Now, I can lift and move my hand. I was suffering with various more diseases but got relief. For example, my heel bone had extended, which was very painful. But Pranayam gave me relief. My nails were disfigured but now they are in well shape. I had the problem of hair loss. I applied suggestions of Patanjali yoggram and was immensely benefited. I just want that the benefit, I received from Pranayam shall be inspirational to others so that they could also get relief from old and painful problems. Regards.

Most revered Swamiji Maharaj, Seek blessings touching your feet.

Swamiji, I am a resident of Chitrakoot. My CT scan was being conducted by a renowned doctor at Kanpur. The doctor had doubt of tumor behind the left eye. I was in deep pain. The nureo surgeon also warned that operation had severe risks. He also advised for emergency surgery at AIIMS, Delhi. In the meantime someone told me about Yoga hospital being run by patanjali yogpeeth at Kareali in Allahabad. I reached there, when the condition of my eye was very bad. But the doctors compassionately started the treatment. After two months, I went to AIIMS and the experts after all examinations revealed that 25 percent problem has disappeared and tumor problem is recovering. And the doctors, treating at AIIMS also advised to undergo Yoga and your medicines. Following the test at AIIMS, I relied completely on the advice of Vaidhyaji for one-and-a-half year. And afterwards, my MRI report proved that the problem has totally disappeared. Swamiji, I am really thankful to you. After being disappointed from AIIMS, I followed advice of Vaidhyaji and practiced yoga and Ayurveda and now I am completely cured. With your blessings, I am performing Yoga regularly. Yours only,

from your mind, you will have to strive to the sacrifice of self. Deep (clay lamp) is a symbol of the cultural dynamism. Nowadays, the trend has changed and electric lights are being used on the occasion of Diwali in place of clay lamps to light our homes. But even though, clay lamps and candles are still being lit at Churches, Tombs and sacred shrines. The festival of light Diwali inspires us with a message of Asato Ma Sadgamaya Tamaso Ma Jyotirgamaya (O almighty, take us from darkness to light) Festival of Diwali inspires us to get rid of the darkness of illusion in our lives by the means of the light of truth. There are many legends associated with the festivals. For generations, rows of lamps have been spreading the message to make our lives meaningful, brighten our lives by removing inertia or the darkness.

Light symbolizes the sacrifice of self. Without sacrifice, it is impossible to get rid of darkness. If you want to remove the darkness from this world or

But in today's world, this festival has become a means of showoff and reckless spending for the people of affluent class. Some people thing expensive decoration on this occasion will earn them pride. Today, people don't feel hesitation in illuminating their homes and filling darkness in the lives of others. An abhorrent trend has become deep rooted on the occasion of Diwali. Gambling is very common on this occasion. This is badly affecting our youths. In the present era of consumerism, people are aloof to the message of public welfare which is a significant message of this festival. Such trends are fading the grace of our magnificent festivals. It is unfortunate to see that Diwali is being celebrated as the festival of showoff and reckless spending disregarding the fact that over 65 percent people of this country live below poverty line. A large number of people in our country live in slums where darkness reign their life. It is ironical to see that crores of rupees are wastefully spent on fire works and gambling on Diwali. The truth of such a big imparity in our society, fades the vibrancy of our festivals. The simplicity of our culture and tradition associated with the festival are gradually vanishing. Flickering of the flame of earthen lamps, making colourful Alpana and Rangoli (a traditional decorative art form of India, women in the families singing songs, sharing the joy of festival with others all these were

symbols of affinity among the people in the society. These elements of our culture made us filled with a sense of great joy. Unfortunately, such traditions have been replaced by artificial showoff. The simplicity of our tradition and culture associated with Diwali has vanished with use of multi-coloured electric bulbs, lavish decorations and unnecessary showoff. How can we expect the natural vibrancy in the present era when artificial demonstration has become a part of life. It is a time for us to sense the true spirit of this festival. It is needed to spread the true message of this festival to everyone in the society. Keep glowing keep burning slowly keep fighting the darkness and inertia in our life. The earthen lamp and candles give us the message of "Asato Ma Sadgamaya Tamaso Ma Jyotirgamaya". While burning slowly, they end their existence to fill others' life with light. "Light the earthen lamps but don't forget to remove the darkness from this planet. We have to light a lamp in our heart to prove the true meaning of 'Deepawali'." May you all attain full inner illumination May all supreme light of lights enlighten your understanding! May you all attain the inexhaustible spiritual wealth of the self! May you all prosper gloriously on the material as well as spiritual planes!

The simplicity of our culture and tradition associated with Diwali are gradually vanishing. Flickering of the flames of earthen lamps, making colourful Alpana and Rangoli (a traditional decorative art form of India), women in the families singing songs, sharing the joy of festival with others all these trends are fast disappearing.

Exclusive on October 02 Gandhi Birth Anniversary a person is thought to be healthy who eats vigorGenerally, ously, moves actively and doesn't call a doctor. But when thought, one could realize a misnomer. There are innumerable examples that people in motion and with heavy diet are also patients. But they have neglected the disease and assumed to be healthy. According to the statement of an English scholar, the person with pure mind and pure body can be deemed fit. A person doesn't carry his body only. But the mind and senses are so inter-related with the body that imbalance in one of the components will affect others as well.

Purity of Mind
Mahatma Gandhi
he body has been compared with rose flower. The upper part of the flower is its body and the aroma its soul. Nobody likes the rose made of paper as it doesn't have an aroma. One chooses rose among other flowers. In the same, a person can't be liked by others who poses to be good to others, but in actual he is not good internally. People with bad characters can't be treated healthy. Mind and body is so correlated that a fit person will surely have a pure mind. Western countries, too, have this opinion that a pure mind has the capability to keep the body healthy. Laziness and deafness are symptoms of a disease. Doctors call ill-behaviours like stealing a symbol of disease. There are some people who can't rest untill perpetrating violence. This also comes in the category of disease. We can say that those whose bodies are integrated with no defect, with teeth, ear and eyes intact and who don't suffer from sinus problem, whose body skins sweat, legs and hands work properly, who are not carried away by sexual inductions, who are neither thin nor thick and whose senses

a must to remain healthy

and minds are under control are said to be healthy. It's not easy to cherish after culminating fitness. We are not fit because our parents are not healthy. A scholar has said that the children of healthy parents are more intelligent than them. Even the radicals accept the fact. A healthy person is not afraid of death. When we fear from death, it depicts the symptom of unhealthiness. Death is only a variation and it should be happy. What is the necessity of being healthy? Our behavior shows that we don't find necessary to keep ourselves healthy. It is unarguably a fact that if living life comfortably, thought

of body being supreme, feel proud on its shape and integration are thought as symptoms of a fit person, then it's better to have bile in the body. All religions assert that this body has been made meet the Godand it is nothing but a temple of God. We have rented the temple and the rent should be paid through eulogizing and worshipping the God. It should be the duty of a tenant not to misuse the house, keep it clean from outside and inside and hand the house over in the form it was given by the housemaster. Every person has got the same kind of body parts which help them in hearing, smelling, visualizing and cherishing other

things. That's why the body of a person has been called 'Chintamani'. It means whatever we wish, we get them. A body is of use only when we take care of it like a house of God. Otherwise, it is a utensil made of bones, flesh and blood and water and air coming out from them is no less than poison. The things coming out from the innumerable holes of the body are of no such use that we could keep them. We start vomiting after having thought of touching or seeing them. After heavy thought, we can make efforts to save them from getting inflicted by parasites. It is shameful to indulge in cheating, fraud and selfishness for such a body. This is the real situation of the body. The body has the capability to misuse even those things which can be utilized in better manner. We can feel the importance of Sun because in absence of it, the world would become dark. If the Sun provides light, it also has the capability to burn us to ashes. Like, a king can be good as well as characterless. There is continuous fight by the internal soul and the devil in the form of sin to take control over the body. When dominated by internal soul, the body becomes a gem. Otherwise, controlled over by the sin, makes the body a hell. The people who enjoy worldly materials lose the power to smell the odour, hear what is right, and see what is not proper. His life becomes worse than hell. It becomes unusual when a person living the life of hell call it spending a heavenly life. Stool should be treated as stool and a palace should be given the honour like a palace. Those who work against them bear the brunt. The same happens with the body too. Those bodies controlled by the soul should work towards killing the demon of sin. The life can be healthy if we follow the conduct of God. Where there is real health, there is happiness and where there is an attempt to win over the sense of taste. Other senses get subdued themselves. Those who control over senses can reign over the whole world. Reason being the person becomes a part of the God.

Every person has got the same kind of body parts which help them in hearing, smelling, visualizing and cherishing other things. That's why the body of a person has been called 'Chintamani'.

ndia has 350 species of mammals, 1224 species of birds, 408 species of reptiles, 197 species of Amphibians, 2546 species of fish, 57548 species of pests, 46286 species of plants. Eight percent of worlds total bio-diversity is found in India. Indias 23.57 percent land is covered with forest. There are 606 forest reserve areas in the country of which 96 are national parks and 510 are

Wildlife Sanctuaries. Thirty sentries are reserved for tigers and 26 for elephants. The two sanctuaries comprise 4.58 percent of our countrys total land area while it is 22.12 percent of Indias total forest area. Besides this, there are 150 recognized small, medium and big zoos and botanical gardens in the country which are home to about 40,000 animals. But there are so many factors which are endangering our wild life. The primary reasons are the demolition of natural shelters on account of human greed, poaching and accidents and health related problems of the animals. To stabilize the condition of wild life in our country we need to find scientific solution to these problems. We normally lack the knowledge about conservation of nature, value of wild life and the benefit from their existence. Government of Indian has always been serious and sensitive towards the issue and has taken serious measures for the conservation of forest and the wild life. The financial and other assistances from the government, efforts by local communities and the roles of multipurpose agencies are playing important role in the way of conservation of wild life. The purposes behind the school syllabus have been to train such wild life

experts who could play an important role with great enthusiasm in the scientific conservation of forests and wild life. There are great employment related opportunities in the field of forest science. Having higher educational degree in this field can help one in getting jobs in the universities, state governments forest and animal husbandry departments, research institutes and in the NGOs. Every year a World Wild Life Week from October 1st to 7th and on October 6, World Wildlife Day are observed. It is true that forest animals are speechless, but it is wrong to consider them lifeless. Be sensitive towards them, live and let others live. The ongoing trend of destroying forest in the name of development is threatening the existence of the wildlife. Poaching is another serious problem. This is the reason why the forests and wildlife have been placed in the concurrent list of the constitution. Union Forest Ministry gives directions with regard to the policies and planning for the conservation of wild life and it is the duty of the state governments to follow and implement them. Under the Wild Life Conservation Director, Wild Life Crime Control Bureaus have been set up in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Jabalpur by joining together the five regional offices and sub-regional offices in Amritsar, Guwahati and Kochi. The union ministry provides all financial and technical assistance to the state governments under various centre-sponsored schemes. Such assistances include- the development of National Parks and sanctuaries, projects for the conservation of elephants, to strengthen the wild life division and providing grants for Central Zoo Authority and National Tiger protection schemes. Protected area network in India comprises of National Parks, 513 Wildlife Sanctuaries, 41 protection reserves and four community reserves. Realizing the complexities of work with regard to the management of protected areas, National Wildlife Action Plan (2002-16) was adopted in which importance of peoples participation and their assistance was highlighted. This ministry appointed a special team and conducted an impartial and independent valuation of National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries across the coun-

In the first phase, assessment was made for 30 reserve areas. Given the presence of the place of natural beauty, a project World Heritage Bio-diversity Programme for India: Building Partnership to Support UNESCO World Heritage Programme. The project is funded by UNESCO and United Nations Foundation (UNF). It has been prepared by a steering committee presided over by the director general of the ministry. A meeting was convened in Almaty, a city of Kazakhstan, to discuss the ways for protection of exotic birds like Siberian Cranes. In the meeting, it was agreed to recognize Keoladeo National Park in Rajasthan as permanent shelter for Siberian Cranes during winter season. Etawah-Mainpuri Vanbhumi in Uttar Pradesh and Banni Charagah in Gujarat were recognized as two more possible shelters of the aquatic birds. 59th annual convention of International Whale Commission was held in Alaska on 28th-29th May, 2007. The convention was attended by an Indian delegation. India has played an active role in increasing the population of whales in the world. India is also credited for working in coalition with USA to prevent poaching and illegal trafficking of wild life. India has been associated with the Coalition against Wild Life Trafficking (CAWT) for this purpose. On February 10, 2007, a ministerial level meeting was held in Nairobi which was first meeting of its kind and was a result of the joint initiatives of India and US. The meeting was attended by Forest and Environment Minister. Prior to this meeting, a similar meeting was held in London between November 20-21, 2006. Indian Wildlife Institute was established in 1982. This institute is an autonomous body which works under the administrative purview of the ministry. It works as a training and research institute for the protection of wildlife. This institute was felicitated with Rajiv Gandhi Wildlife Protection Award by the Ministry of Environment and Forest in 1999 for its commendable job in this field.

Swami Dayanand lived in Udaipur till end of February in 1883. In the first week

of March, he reached Shahpura estate. The king of Shahpura Raja Nahar Singh was a staunch follower of Swamiji. He welcomed him, with all devoutness. He made all preparations for the stay of Swamiji in his special palace `Nahar niwas`. Swami Dayanand started spreading Vedic religion. The king himself came to Swamiji as a student for three hours daily and took lessons. He learnt `manu smiriti`, `yogdarshan` and `vaisheshik darshan`.

rawing inspiration from the teachings of Swamiji, Maharaj established a yagna-shala in his palace and take oath to perform yagna regularly. After holding many spiritual and religious sessions in Shahpur, Swamiji started for Jodhpur on May 17, 1883. Colonel Sir Pratap Singh was a staunch follower of Swamiji and was sending invitation since long time. Now acknowledging the invitation, he headed for Jodhpur. He was accorded warm and tumultuous welcome but here the number of opponents was no less. Before going to bed one day, he asked for warm milk as he do usually. His cook gave milk, following which he went to bed. But after sometime, complications developed and he felt stomachache and uneasiness. He had number of vomits. But Swamiji did not inform anyone. Due to weakness, he could not wake-up in time the next day and had to drop morning walk. He asked for `havan` for the purity of the house. Havan was performed but the condition of Swamiji started deteriorating. Doctor Suryamal ji was a staunch follower of Swamiji. He started his treatment but soon king sent Dr Alimardan Khan for better treatment. He also gave many medicines but failed to deliver. Number of motions increased. His mouth, head and forehead were full of ulcers and body weakened. Poison had shown its effect. Doctors also concluded that he has been poisoned. Apparently, conspirators bribed the cook, who mixed poison in milk and gave him, when he was going to sleep. When Swami Dayanand Saraswati came to know about the conspiracy, he apprehended

that his followers may harm the cook. Thus, he gave him money and asked to flee to Nepal. Despite many troubles, the patience of seer was admirable. Friends and enemies were equally surprised. Despite immense pain, he was peaceful. His body was full of ulcers, had immense pain in speaking and was feeling trouble in movement but in such condition also, he was not perturbed. He had the same serious posture and peaceful face. People, who saw Swami Dayanand Saraswati that time were sure that some heavenly power is working in his body. The information of illness of Swamiji was not a secret by then. As the information reached Ajmer, many Arya samaj followers headed for Jodhpur. They were surprised on the painful condition of Swamiji. They urged him to carry him to Abu for better treatment, which he accepted. But when the ruler came to know his decision, he felt sad. But afterwards, he agreed and also made all arrangements for the travel. He himself was present at the departure of Swamiji to oversee all arrangements. He was taken to Abu on a stretcher but there also, he felt no relief. His followers again took him to Ajmer. The journey was very painful to him but he gave priority to the wish of devotees. He was stayed in a posh house and Dr Laxmandasji started treatment. But by then, it was clear that his death was approaching. Treatment and service failed to make improvement. One follower, who was present during last time of Swamiji gave details in very simple words which are being re-produced here. After alighting from the train, Swamiji was taken in a palanquin with utmost care. His staying arrangements were made in a palatial house, which was pre-decided. It was 3 in the morning in the month of October. When others

were experiencing biting cold, Swamiji was sweating. All the entrances of house were opened so that he could breathe in fresh air but still, he was not normal. Dr Laxmandas ji started treatment, the next day but it also failed to make any impact. Swamiji asked his followers to take him to Masuda. His disciples urged that after some relief, he would be taken to Masuda as traveling in this condition is not good for him. Once he gets some relief, his wish would be fulfilled. Swamiji replied, in next two days, he would have complete relief. This reply was worth remembering. Ulcers developed on his entire body. On October 29, the body of Swamiji grew too weak and he asked to stop treatment. He was breathing fast and it appeared that he was using pressure to breathe out. And in that condition also, he was remembering god. Next day, on October 30, doctor Mr Numan was called. When the doctor checked him, he was surprised. He said that he hasn't seen such a strong and brave person in his entire life, which is reeling under severe pain in entire body but is not groaning and resting in such a peace. Swamiji had serious problem of cough and the doctor made attempts but could not succeed. By 11 am, his breathe problem complicated further. He said that he would go to toilet. He was carried by four persons and taken to the place. Afterwards, he was be-seated on the bed. He kept seated for some time and then lied down. His breathe was heavy and it appeared that he was remembering god and them forcing breathe out using extra energy. When somebody asked, how he is feeling, he replied good and now time has ripe for complete rest. Lala Jeevandas ji, who had come from Lahore to see swamiji asked - maharaj, where are you now? And he replied in the shelter of god. Calm and peace prevailed on his face and was facing bodily troubles bravely. Till then, it was 5 in evening. When his followers asked about his health and he replied it is light and darkness simultaneously. But no one could understand that he was indicating death as he was talking normally. At 5.30, he asked to call all the persons, who had gathered to see him

and asked them to stand behind him. He specifically cautioned that no one would stand in front of him. As he had ordered, the same was done. When all people assembled, he asked to open all the doors and windows. Even two small doors, attached with the roof were opened. By then, Pandya Vishnulal Mohanlal had also arrived. He asked the date, day and other details of the day. He was informed that it is Tuesday with new moon and a union of `Krishna paksh` and `Shukla paksh`. He, then looked at the walls and roof and then recited a few `mantras` from veda. Then he remembered almighty in Sanskrit and then gave a short statement on the benevolence of god. He was looking happy. Then he went into meditation. After sometime he opened his eyes and said `almighty, you are the most powerful and had a good `lila` with me. Till then, he was lying upside but then, he laid to his side and forced the last breathe out. Even his last time, he had large number of friends and foes alike in the world. But his death melted down the difference line. As the news of his death spread, there was massive public response. Christians, Muslims, Brahmins and others expressed deep grief on his death. When he was alive, many hesitated to praise him and kept mum but after his death there was spate of mourning. The prominent leaders and newspapers said that it is a sign of misfortune. The renowned Sanskrit scholar Professor Maxmuler wrote a write-up in `Palmal gazette` and accepted that Swamiji was a great scholar of vedic literature and famous social worker. Professor wrote, whenever discussion involving Swamiji held he always won. All the newspapers fondly remembered Swami Dayanand and in one voice said that his death was a great loss to the nation. It was the night of Diwali, when he left the mortal world. And the place vacant with his death has yet not been filled. (Courtesy biography of Maharshi Dayanand written by Indra Vidhya Vachaspati)

Weakness of memory power

Whatever Memory power is the main function of brain.listening, it knowledge we collect while seeing and is being stored and then reproduced, when needed. The power of acceptance is called `medha`. Whatever meal we accept, it converts into juice after digestion. It then creates blood, flesh, marrow, bone and semen. The quantity of semen is very less and more the semen is being stored in the body, more is the energized face. It enhances memory power besides keeping brain more active.

With exhaust mind, memory power also decreases. For sharp memory, healthy brain in healthy body is very important. Similar to the decentralized sun rays, which are not too effective while concentrated rays could burn a surface.

To increase memory power following steps could be taken. 1] Morning yoga exercise, pranayam and meditation help improving memory power. In yoga exercises `sarvangasan`, `sheershasan`, `dhanurasan`, `matasyasan`, `paschimotanasan`, `mayurasan` and `halasan` are beneficial. 2] Sit in `padmasan` posture at some peaceful place and exercise pranayam, concentrating your attention. Then, after opening eyes focus on breath. Try to see your nose point for some seconds, then close eyes. Then again repeat the same procedure. 3] Take calculated amount of diet. In meals, adequate proteins, vitamins, minerals, salt, fat should be included. Seasonal fruits, vegetables, flour roti also enhances resistance power of the body. 4] Inhaling and breathing should be slow, deep and harmonious. This would ensure adequate oxygen to blood through lungs. 5] Have positive attitude as positive attitude generates optimism. It reduces tension. 6] Take adequate rest. After an exhaustive routine, rest to mind and brain is much important. 7] Avoid stodgy and warm items. Much grief, anger, fear, concern and mental thought also reduce memory power.

Special on 2nd October: Birthday anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

Bismarck and Mahatma Gandhi

Sunita Poddar,
International Convener and trustee of Patanjali Yogpeeth, UK Trust.

Bismarck and Mahatma Gandhi are known for building their nations. As a head of the government of Germany, Bismarck tried to unify all the constituent states of the country. Bismarck rose to helms of affairs of German government after coronation of Kaiser Wilhelm as King of Germany in 1871. From 1871 to 1885, Bismarck was the most prominent political figure in Europe. About Bismarck, historian R. C. Mowat said, "His mission was not peace he wanted to acquire power." Same was the objective of Bismarck's heirs their main objective was to acquire power at any cost. Bismarck was totally against the philosophy of Christianity- help others to help oneself.

B
Gandhiji never tried to hide anything whatever he did. Since his visit to

South Africa in 1890 to January 1948 when he was assassinated, his life was like an open book.

ismarck had intentionally kept politics away from religion. But this principle proved to be a catastrophe for Europe. He made Germany a great nation but disgraced the people of the country. On the contrary, Indians think that it was Mahatma Gandhi who brought grace for his fellow countrymen. There was a sharp contrast between Mahatma Gandhi and Bismarck. Bismarck had a huge figure and he ate too much while Gandhiji had a lean figure and he ate very less. But both were very active when they were in 70s. Gandhiji never tried to hide anything whatever he did. Since his visit to South Africa in 1890 to January 1948 when he was assassinated, his life was like an open book. This was the reason why his opponents always found it almost impossible to face him. General Smuts was a South African officer who tried to counter Gandhiji's civil rights movements. Years later he admitted that he felt fortunate to have a chance to face Gandhiji for whom he had a great respect. Bismarck's patriotism for his country had a touch of chauvinism while Gandhiji's patriotism was inspired by a great sense of serving humanity. Bismarck's thoughts were confined to the politics only while andhiji was able to think beyond politics. Gandhi's struggle for freedom was not confined to only rooting out British rule from India. He wanted an ambience in the country in which people could set up a system of governance as per their desire. He wanted to see Ram Raj (A true welfare state) in India. This was the reason why he was against taking to any unethical means to fight British rule. He started

a Non-cooperation Movement in the country in 1922 against British rule. He appealed people to boycott government schools, courts and government jobs and masses followed his appeals. Gandhiji appealed the people to shun the clothes made in foreign factories. This appeal was meant to generate jobs for our countrymen. He asked people to make a pyre of cloths and garments made in foreign countries and burn it. thousands of people happily went to jails while protesting British rule. This inspired people not to fear from going to jail and jail became a pilgrim for freedom fighters. When Gandhiji had started Disobedience Movement, he stressed on not to go violent. He strictly appealed the people to avoid violence during protest. People strictly followed Gandhiji's guidelines except Chauri Chaura, a place in Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh. For some reasons, people become unruly and burnt 22 policemen alive in a police station. Gandhiji immediately called off his movement. Gandhiji's aides like Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru and others were indignant over decision to call off the movement. They contended that such a huge movement should not be ended due to mistake of a few people. Nehru wrote in his autobiography "the decision to call off the movement by Gandhiji has weakened the freedom struggle. But at the same time it also proves that means was more important for Gandhiji than objective." Writing about falling influence of Gandhiji among people, a British writer Jyofre says, "The decision by Gandhiji had badly marred strength of the movement. But this par-

ticular decision made him immortal. Gandhiji denied to follow the path which would have helped him to attain his objective. It was fist instance of its kind in the history of mankind" Gandhiji had rejected the path of violence fearing that it would lead the movement on wrong track. Gandhiji accepted failure in stead of embracing the path of violence and terror that would have easily led the movement to achieve its objective. Gandhiji always took to right methods for his movements, he also used the freedom struggle to educate his followers. He was assassinated after 26 years of the termination of NonCooperation movement. That time Pandit Nehru said, "The light has gone out of our lives and there is darkness everywhere." But the light kindled by Mahatma Gandhi was not a simple light. The light will continue to guide us for thousands of years. This light will continue to console millions of hearts. Mahatmaji played a pivotal role in getting equal rights for women in the society. He always encouraged them to work in public life. There were many women aides of Gandhiji who worked commendably with him during freedom struggle. Gandhiji never accepted the argument that women are not eligible for any of the responsibilities or works. With Gandhiji's consent, many groups of women were organized across the country for various works during freedom struggle. On Gandhiji's recommendations, two women were inducted in the first ministry of independent India. These are the instances which prove that Gandhiji devoted a major part of his life in promoting interests of women.

1943, senior revolutionary Ras Bihari Bose handed over the charge of the Indian Independence League (IIL) to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Netaji rejuvenated the Indian Nation Army (INA). He formed a Jhansi Rani regiment as a part of INA. In June 1943, speaking on Tokyo radio, Netaji said that it is meaningless to expect the British rulers that they will shun their empire. We have the responsibility to take our freedom struggle forward. We need to take up our struggle inside and outside our country. This appeal of Netaji stimulated the Indians who were fighting for British in the world war and they left the British army and joined INA to fight for the freedom of India. As the supreme commander of INA, on 21st October 1943, Netaji declared the formation of interim government of independent India in Andaman and Nicobar islands which was won by INA. On 30th December 1943, flag of independent India was hoisted there. On 22nd September 1944, Netaji appealed the armed personnel of INA, "Give me blood and I shall give you freedom." Unfortunately, in the further battles against the British, INA had to retreat. Making supreme sacrifice for the freedom of India, Netaji embraced martyrdom. His courage and sacrifice greatly inspired the people of this country and they still want to see Netaji alive. People believe that if Netaji had not died, partition of Indian sub-continent would have been prevented.

states have lost their exclusive privileges and are living like common men. Even the public of these states are enjoying their democratic rights as others in the country. This made Sardar Patel one of the greatest nation-builders in the world. There is no doubt that while Mahatma Gandhi instilled in patriotism among countrymen and compelled British to leave the country, Sardar Patel worked to organize and strengthen the nation. So, to say him 'nation-builder' is like giving him a justified honour. Some call him Bismark of India, but he is much more than the German leader. Reason being while Bismark forced 32 states to merge to make a united Germany, Sardar Patel aligned 552 states peacefully with India. It is regretful that despite he being such a big leader of this country, no biography of Sardar Patel has been published in either English or Hindi. There must be a diary extolling his works and his speeches and articles be published, but no effort was made to publish his biography yet. Although Sardar Patel's life is full of struggle, but we don't find his mention anywhere, not even in provincial events, about his active involvement, leaving Bardoli Satyagraha.

He carried out responsibilities as the Home Minister and Provincial Minister under most sensitive and complex circumstances. He did exemplary work for the unity and integrity of the country. As the Home Minister, he proved himself to be a real 'iron-man'. But his most important work was to solve the complex problem of princely states. The situation was so grave that Congress didn't have the courage to look into these problems. Once Mahatma Gandhi had faced embarrassment in 1939 when his fast against Thakur Sahab of Rajkot proved an utter failure. Pandit Nehru too was once arrested in Sheikh Abdullah case. Congress had decided to solve the problem of princely states after the country becomes independent. The British announced to set free 552 princely states while making India independent. This created the possibility of 551 independent states besides Pakistan. But Sardar Patel solved the crisis so meticulously that even the princes of these

The festival has cultural aspect as well. Farmers bring yellow crop, appearing as gold to their home and there is atmosphere of joy among the family members. The family takes it as blessings of god and hence prays the almighty. In entire country, the festival is being celebrated in different traditional manner. In Maharashtra, it is being celebrated as Silana.

ijyadashmi is the main festival of Hindu community. It is celebrated with devoutness and faith. The relationship of Vijyadashmi is with power. For knowledge goddess Saraswati is worshiped and for power and strength, Maa Durga is worshipped. It is said that she had killed demon Mahishasur, who was committing atrocities on saints. For this, she took incarnation of `Mahishasurmardini`. Mother Durga also killed two demons Shumbh and Nishumbh. As incarnation of Chamunda, she killed Chand and Munda, two demons. Lord Ramchandra worshipped Durga maa before executing Ravana. In Bengal and other regions, the festival is celebrated as Durga pooja. The festival of Vijyadashmi continue for ten days. It started from Ashwin month and Shukla paksh according to Hindu mythology. It concludes on Vijyadashmi. On Pratipada, Hindu families establish Devi Bhagwati traditionally. The `kalash` is decorated with cow dung. For eight days, contin-

uously, Maa Durga is worshipped religiously. On Navmi, five girls are invited and offered meals after worshipping them following which, the idol is submerged. The entire series is also called as `Navratra`. The devotees observe total sobriety and restrain for these nine days. On dashmi, the day is celebrated at large scale. It is also said as Dussehra. Many traditions are being attached with Vijyadashmi. It is said that Lord Rama had killed demon Ravana, the same day and hence it is observed as a day of victory of good over bad. In Northern part of the country, 10-day Ramlila is also staged and Vijyadashmi is the last day of 10 days celebration. On the day, the effigy of Ravana is burnt. Big fairs are being observed at many places. In Rajasthan, power is being prayed. In Mithila and Bengal region, goddess Durga is being worshipped in `ashwin shukla paksh`. On the occasion of Vijyadashmi, kshatriyas worship their weapons and arms. Since Lord Rama had killed Ravana, the same day, it is observed as a victory of good over bad. Indian culture prays bravery and valor. Dessert celebra-

T
here are two words used for this in English- Infertility and Sterility. Both have the same meaning, that is, inability of woman to conceive after making physical relation with her for over a year and without use of any artificial contraceptives. This is considered to be a permanent infertility or temporary inability to conceive. The condition wherein a woman is unable to conceive permanently and her womb getting miscarriage time and again is included in the category of infertility. According to a survey by R G Kar Medical College Kolkata, only 10 percent of the married couples have the capability to give birth to child in natural way. The defects can be found in either of them. But being a male dominated society, the inability is imposed upon women. She is also tortured and disgraced for this.

The reasons of infertility are related with the inability to con42&YOG SANDESH&October 2011

ceive. The process of conception is a complex one. It is essential for sperm to join egg for a woman to conceive. The male's semen containing millions of tiny sperm cells has to pass through a long way-from uterus (womb) and then into her fallopian tubes to join the tiny egg. If any obstruction takes place in the way which could either prevent sperm from joining egg or making the sperm weak, then it becomes difficult for woman to conceive. Sometimes this

obstruction is by birth too.

Factors obstructing sperm from entering into uterus

The process of conception is a complex one. It is essential for sperm to join egg for a woman to conceive. The male's semen containing millions of tiny sperm cells has to pass through a long way-from uterus (womb) and then into her fallopian tubes to join the tiny egg.

Lack of uterus, Blocked fallopian tube, conical shape of uterus. There are many couples in whom no defect is found. There may be many cases wherein the defects would have been so small that medical sciences would have been unable to discover them. But some cases are because of psychological reasons. It is also an established fact that emotive defects in a living being are the effects of fear, anger, tension and grief. The process of conception, which is related to the person's activities, is set by these factors. The emotive defects can act as obstruction in the way of successful fertilization. There are many cases wherein a childless woman after adopting a child becomes pregnant. It is here accepted that her inability to conceive was because of psychological reasons. It may be possible that the feeling of being childless would have developed mental strain, which in turn would have acted as obstruction. Sexuality and the urge to have sex find an important place among psychological reasons. Infertile woman are generally not sexually excited. But this can't be taken as the basic reason. There are some other women who are sexually bent, but they are unable to conceive. Many sexual ladies can't conceive because there is hidden thought in their minds that conception would come in their way of enjoyment. Besides improper and unbalanced diet, lifestyle, malnutrition, getting out of bed soon after inter-course, washing up of

vagina after physical contact, use of artificial contraceptives, incoherence in related glands, business conditions and climate are the factors that act as deterrent in the way to pregnancy.

There are nine reasons of infertility in Ayurveda1] Aadi bandhya- because of evil deeds in past and present birth 2] Rakt bandhya- because of polluted blood 3] Vaat bandhya- Air pollution weakening egg of woman 4] Pit bandhya- because of bileraging 5] Cough bandhya- cough-rage creating obstruction 6] Tridosh bandhya- because of three defects, weakening or inaction developing in the related organs 7] Because of defect in house 8] Because of heavenly effect 9] Defects in the honour of respected person or sideeffects of treatment In these, Rakt bandhya gives birth to dead child, Vaat bandhya gives birth to only girls and Pit bandhya conceives for once. Even Andali, Vivrita, Suchimukhi and Tridoshja affected women suffer from infertility. There are several other reasons for defect in Ayurvedadefective diet & lifestyle, defects in menstruation cycle, defective genes of parents, evil deeds in previous birth. Infertility is often hard to get solved. Generally, in 40 percent infertility cases, males are responsible. But they find hard to accept and blames are passed

on to their spouses. However, it is easier and males should get themselves checked first. If the male is healthy and capable in every manner and his sperm is unpolluted with required number of counts, then only his wife would be deemed unfit and she would be asked to get herself tested. Nowadays, many modern technologies are able to trace the defects and provide solution to nearly every infertility related problems. If treated with modern techniques, it can take three to six months or sometimes more than that. In this process, case history of a woman is taken, wherein many factors are taken into account, like- Is there any menstrual defect? How many diseases she has suffered from? Has she been a patient of Syphilis or Gonorrhea ever? Has pelvis area being operated? If yes, then when, how many times and in what manner the operation took place? Has abortion been done ever? Has any defective child born? Is the woman a victim of mental disability? Was it treated or examined? If yes, what were the results and what came out from the operation? Is she employed in an organisation where she is affected directly by chemicals, radiations or excessive heat? Did she try for artificial contraceptives? What is her lifestyle, diet, way of entertainment and physical labour? Is she addictive of narcotics? Does she reach culmination during intercourse? Does she get down before time? Does her husband know the suitable timing and proper manner to get her pregnant? Does she get-up just after intercourse or wash-up

her vagina? After getting through the information, the doctor checks if reproductive organs have been under-developed or there is any defect. Does her egg develop in a healthy manner and passes into fallopian tube? Is there any factor present in the organ that prevents her from getting conceived? In the process, doctor examines the blood group, Rh factor, conduct of glands especially Thyroid and Ovaries and the urine of the patient. The sperm of man and egg of woman, her menstruation is examined through sperm-cervical-compatibility test. Besides, there are several test present in medical and Ayurveda to assess the ability of a woman's fertility. If infertility is not stable and medically untreatable, then in 30 to 40 percent situations, infertility is treated. The treatment is very much based on the fact that how far a doctor is successful in finding the actual cause of infertility and secondly how far the couple is ready to cooperate with him. Until couple put their actual reasons before the doctor, bring restraint in the daily diet and lifestyle, it is doubtful that the treatment by the doctor would enable them conceive. A patient has to be capable, real, committed, dedicated and also exercises restraint to bring success to the treatment. Ayurveda finds vaginal diseases like Shandi, Falini, Vivrita, Suchimukhi and Tridoshja untreatable. All other vaginal diseases can be treated. In the process of treatment, if a woman is found with any defective lifestyle, diet, way of entertainment and sexual behaviour, she should be asked to change her ways. If there is any structural

defect which can be treated, doctor must be consulted. If a patient is suffering from mental disorder, then take the help of psychiatrist. If the cause is some infection, get it treated first. If there is protuberance, obstruction, unnecessary increment or abscess in reproductive organ, it should be treated. If there is menstrual defect, effort should be made to make it regular. In the process of treatment, one can follow the instructions given by Yuktivyapashray. Addibandhya patients should take 10 grams of one out of many enumerated items on Sunday in pshyanakshatra, get it rubbed on stone by an unmarried girl and mix sugar into the paste. Then give it to the woman early in the morning to drink. The medicinal items are- 1. Sarvakshi or Pavanshivli 2. Devlali 3. Sharphunka 4. Rudraksh (grain is also accetable but it should be rubbed well) 5. Shwet Kantkari 6. Lakshmana or 7. Shwet Bala or Mulethi. The medicine should given to the lady for four to seven days after she takes bath to purify herself after menstrual cycle. When she feels hungry, she should be given simple, easily digestive food (if possible without salt) in small amounts. Milk and Shaali rice are best edible items for these patients.

How to avoid

Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis is a bone related disease. If this occurs in a body, fractures are

the common scenario and the patient has a high risk of broken bones. In Osteoporosis cases, bone mineral strength (BMD) weakens. Micro structure of bone structure would be destroyed. A variety of complex changes happen in the group of proteins which are not merged into the bones, targeting the bones' destruction.

20 October
World Osteoporosis Day

orld Health Organization (WHO) conducted a survey to know the osteoporosis rate in the women. According to DXA maximum bone mineral mass (an average of 20year-old healthy woman) in compare with the lower mineral density is defined as 2.5 standard deviation. Osteoporosis means a risk of fragile bones which may break quickly . This position is visible in women after menopause state. It is called 'post menopause osteoporosis'. In recent years, the disease is seen in men also. This occurs due to hormonal imbalances, suffering with other chronic diseases, using drugs frequently, in particular glucocorticoid. This disease is also called as steroid / Glucocorticoid induced osteoporosis (SIOP GIOP) The risk of a breaking bones in a state of the disease is more acute. Life becomes sorrowful. This disease affects our lifestyle. If we obtain a balanced lifestyle, osteoporosis can be avoidable. If the bones are weak, the treatment may occur through two mechanisms. 1. Exercise 2. Change in lifestyle. That does work well.

Exercises prepare us to change ourselves. These patients use to fall suddenly while they are in standing posture. Calcium, Vitamin D and useful drugs for bone health should be used. In all osteoporosis cases, a great imbalancement is seen particularly between the bone resorption and bone formation in the internal system. Remodeling Bone matrix of continuous bones exists in normal bones. At every point all bone mass gets through 10% of remodeling process. The process is held in Bone Multi cellular Units (BMU) and this is first discovered in 1963 by Frost. Bone resorption is taken place by osteoclast (obtained from the bone marrow). It is followed by the storage of new bone tissue. There are three main causes of bones to be weak. 1. Inadequate maximum bone mass (skeletal develops inadequate mass and energy in the developing stage), 2. maximum bone resorption 3. Formation of delicate bone tissue during the time of remodeling having inadequate new-bone formative elements. All these three aspects result in fragile bone tissue. And moreover it reduces the new bone formation in the bones which bear the weight. In preventing such fatal process of inadequacies in quantity, (generally it takes lesser quantity to stimulate mammalian gland and ovary) a-type of estrogen receptor place a great role. It controls the regulation of bone turnover. Osteoporosis has no distinguishing features to identify the case. This is a disease dangerous for bones. Osteoporosis fractures happen to the patient where in the general condition for a healthy person never occur usually. So it can be said it is a disease of delicate bone fractures. And the fractures may occur at any place, in spinal, muscle, hip, and wrist. These bones are more fragile. Sudden back pain, frequent attacks of neural (nerve compression due to the intense suffering that arouse suddenly with some frequency), spinal compression (acute pain in vertebra), facing the risk of equine carcinoma syndrome, spinal bones reduction due to the disappearance of many bones, height decrease all these characteristics indicate the presence of Osteoporosis. Such cases may require surgery. Hip fractures, most of the blood vessels would get clotted and also occur obsta-

cles in pulmonary vessels. In those cases survival of the patient is doubtful. So surgery is suggestible particularly in such cases without any delay. Some fractures are age related. When fractures occur in pelvis, spine and wrist, patient can not stand independently and falls down suddenly. In some cases, poor vision (cataract, the destruction of tissue) Changes in a state of balance Due to the age factor, declining bone strength , increasing the risk of falling down for Osteoporosis patients is seen. Movement changes (e.g. Parkinson-disease), mental instability, sarcopenia (increasing destruction of bone muscles while aging), change in posture while in conscious or in unconscious state all these conditions would make this disease many more times increase. However, the patient may get epilepsy. But these problems are inclusive of inappropriate heart beat, epilepsy due to weak heart veins; orthostatic poor blood circulation (unusual changes in blood circulation while in standing posture) and epilepsy are inclusive. Falling down can be controlled if the carpets are avoided in the living places. If falling down occurred previously in that case their style of walking is very much imbalanced. Those people have many chances to fall down again and again. Age factor is the prime reason for Osteoporosis for both men and women. Because this disease is directly related with the menopause state in women. In that state estrogen deficiency occurs. Bone Mineral Density is changed according to the age whereas in males the decreasing testosterone levels lead to Osteoporosis. This disease enters into the body at this stage. Osteoporosis is seen in every country all over the world irrespective of the climatic conditions. Europe and Asia continents are already having the disease. And Osteoporosis disease is a hereditary disease in 25-80% of the population. It may be a little bit higher also. Minimum 30 genes are present in the development of Osteoporosis, in those cases, fracture occurrence rate is twice high than their same age group, if once a bone is fractured. Taking more intoxicating drinks at an early age proves dangerous to health and also to Osteoporosis disease. Deficiency of Vitamin - D. In the aged people Deficiency of Vitamin - D is common. Continuous production of

growing parathyroid Hormone (PTH) develops bone resorption, which is bone destructive. UPTH is a positive activity and it happens in between the serum, dihydroxycholecalciferol 1,25 levels and Bone Mineral Density. But in between PTH and Bone Mineral Density are related negatively. And both of them are related Bone Mineral Density. Smoking Tobacco disrupts the bone activity and its operations. It serves as another potential cause of bone weakness. Due to the increase in smoking estrogen would be be pushed out and thus becomes the prime factor of estrogen deficiency. Thus outgoing estrogen causes weight reduction, which brings menopause at an early stage. All of these conditions lead to the reduction in the bone mineral density. Minimum Body Mass Index - If the body weight is low, one must gain some weight by taking hormone leptin. Malnutrition- Due to the Low-calcium food, Low vitamin K, vitamin B food, low- proteined diet are the causes of low bone mineral density. Physical Inactivity - If a body gets into activity the process of bone reformation is started. If weights are lifted in exercises, higher amount of bone mass is seen and it continuously grows also. When they enter into young age, the functional activity is continued. There will be increased from 1% to 2% of them. If the body is inactive, it allows bone damage simply. Over activity of the body - Over exercises, most laborious work cause more bone damage. Fatigue is often caused. The correct example of such cases is marathon athletes! Well, those days when they exercise well and take nutrient food are over. After that they are affected with Osteoporosis disease. Even in women, over exercises lead to estrogen deficiency. And that leads the weakness in bones, which is resulted in bone fractures at an early stage. And more over without taking many supplements to compensate the exercises and physical training, it would be fatal to one's general health and bones. Heavy metals - Cadmium, and lead like heavy metals are directly related to bone diseases. If Cadmium reaches low levels, bone mineral density growth is seen in both in men and women. Especially in elder women, the pain and peril of fractures is high. They are also more at

risk of fractures. But if the Cadmium is high that makes the bone softer. Soft drinks - some surveys indicate that cool drinks have phosphorus acid which leads to Osteoporosis disease. It is directly related to Osteoporosis. Researches have proven that fact also. Not only they weaken the bones but also they drive away the calcium ingredients that are taken through food. Coffin- In contrast to the popular view about the usage of raw Coffin, there are no evidences to think that coffin develops Osteoporosis. But some opine that they are directly related with the diseases of bone weakness and other bone diseases that affect the internal system. However, some of the other causes of bone-related diseases are not certain. Low genital gland levels, affect Osteoporosis factors Indirectly. Ex. Turner syndrome, the most important column syndrome. Disorders in food digestion, endropas, Hypothalamic amenorrhea or Hyperprolactinaemia causes deficiency of estrogen in women and that leads to Hypogonadism. This also may be resulted in early menopause (45 years) or menopause amenorrhea (1 year) in women. Bilateral Salpingooophorectomy (surgery to remove the ovary) or failure of ovary much earlier, those lead the estrogen deficiency in women. And in men also it is caused the deficiency of testosterone. For example, if the testicles or endocrine glands are removed through surgery changes occur in endorphins. It also occurs in the bone damage. These are Inclusive of Cushing syndrome, hyperthyroidism, perataxicosin, Thyrotoxicosis, hypothyroidism, diabetes mellitus types 1 and 2, obesity and deficiency, supra renal deficiency, milk and reversible bone damage is seen in pregnant and lactating women also. Malnutrition- Nutrient food which is not digestible gives great trouble to intestines. This is also the prime reason for Osteoporosis disease. In Surgery (stomach bypass surgery /after doing surgery to intestines) and in liver disease (especially primary bile cirrhosis) and in patients who suffer from more hunger Osteoporosis increases. Even though a person is having calcium, calcium / vitamin D, and if he has not sufficiently power of absorption, that leads to Osteoporosis. And other micro nutrient deficiencies of vitamin K and vita-

By measuring Bone mineral density (BMD) we may treat Osteoporosis. We can also treat this disease using two times energized X ray of absorption measurement (DXA or DEXA) which is a popular method of treatment Osteoporosis. It is unusual method of knowing the factors that contribute to osteoporosis. This test is a blood test and this test is done along with blood test and X-ray. Based on the basic problem, fracture occurrences, Multiple myeloma, Cushing disease, and other factors of the above can also get tested for cancer. Osteoporosis fractures are called 'Trauma bone fractures' or 'easy bone fractures'. In this position patient falls down suddenly. If the condition is such, we should know that it belongs to a very large percentage of the state of Osteoporosis. This is a serious condition. According to the International Council of Osteoporosis, we can not treat these by the help of measuring BMD who are lesser than 50 years old in men. To diagnose the density instead of T-scores, z-scores (peak bone mass divided by the age) should be used for the women who are before menopause state is used. At this stage, however, only the measuring and knowing the density of Standards does not show any affect. Prevention Service Task Forces of America (USPSTF) offer recommendations in 2002. According to the given suggestions, women who are having 65 years / or above age should take density measurements. Task force advises to check the persons 60-64 only between the ages in women. In fact, loss of weight (70.G.) is the strongest reason to be tested for Osteoporosis. As Smoking or the reasons of unknown family history, do not have sufficient potential for stopping the attendance of repetitive tests. To

conduct tests for women between the age group of 60-64 are readily available. We can decide the level of disease. We should fight against Osteoporosis very sensitively. First of all we should evaluate (ORAI) the situation very sensibly. Evaluation of a diagnostic test for men is inclusive the study of 65-year-old men. These may inform that they had bone fractures earlier and 80 years or more old men may report that he did not have any bone fractures in the past, and then their expenditure is very less. In addition to that, young men should spend more on tests to know the testosterone level is less than 300. Different types of drugs are used in medical treatments depending upon gender. Life style should be changed. It is also a part of the treatment. For bone growth, strength, and to prevent bone disease, calcium treatment is needed. Bone calcium must be treated. According to the country, different climatic conditions and age, different quantities of calcium doses should be preferred. If risk is there, (everyone above the age of 50) one may take 200 mm from the American health agencies. Some use dietary calcium supplements for leading a healthy a life. If these supplements are taken in small quantities through out the day, absorption would be positive. But we never say that calcium is helpful in treating Osteoporosis with much accuracy. But this much we can say that while using calcium, some of the patients feel that their bone fractures rate is low. If milk, dairy products are taken bone fractures rate is high. If calcium is taken along with other vitamins like vitamin-D, proteins, salt and sun light and exercise it would be useful. Relaxation processes, such as to have sunlight can get calcium to increase bone density. One should use milk diet along with suggested exercises and sufficient sun light. A report is given by the World Health Organization in 2007, in which it is said that we can reduce bone weakness by getting acids, calcium through food. Calcium, calcium and vitamin D contained random tests result in an interim analysis of controlled trials of high levels of calcium (1,200 mm. G / less than), and vitamin D (800 + or more). But results in calculating bone (according to bone fractures, bone loss) health is varied. In the aged it is seen that bone fractures are decreased as they are taking

vitamin D. Women Health Survey is held in which it is reported that calcium and vitamin D has increased the density by more than 1% of bone density, but did not cure the condition that due to a broken hip and more over 17% of increase in renal stones is observed. To prevent bone weakness it is most important to change our life style on appropriate methods. But Osteoporosis can be prevented by using certain drugs. Osteoporosis orthosis treatment is now available. This treatment protects us from bone fractures. And also protects our bones of the spine. Also helps in the production of muscle and prevents us from falling down. And it helps us to get relieved from the pain. Osteoporosis can be prevented through by good life style, to prevent the disease factors earlier levels, smoking, alcohol like bad habits increase the bone weakness. There are two reasons to Osteoporosis. So first, we should get relieved from such bad habits. Osteoporosis can also prevented by obtaining a higher level of bone mass by doing proper exercises from the earlier stages and with good food. Life can be lead with a great balance, if proper exercise, nutrition, leaving the bone loss is unavoidable. Balanced diet, adequate calcium supplements, food that rich with vitamin- D. Those who suspect that they may have Osteoporosis (eg, Users of Steroids) can continue their diet by taking Vitamin-D and Calcium Supplements. In Kidney diseases, vitamin-D and paricalcitol or (chief element of biological active form of vitamin-E) or 1, 25-dihydroxycholecalciferol of calcitriol. Because we can not extract calcitriol from calcifediol (25 hydroxycholecalciferol) which exist in vitamin D form. High proteined food drives away calcium through urine. This factor proves more fatal as it enhances the perilous situation of bones. In other researches also it is declared that proteins are required for calcium resorption. But, coming to the the point of the prevention of bone weakness, we do not know how far proteins are useful. According to Patanjali Yogapith organization document, vatarichurnam should be used. The advice of medical experts is needed in this treatment.

We never say that calcium is helpful in treating Osteoporosis with much accuracy. But this much we can say that while using calcium, some of the patients feel that their bone fractures rate is low. If milk, dairy products are taken bone fractures rate is high. If calcium is taken along with other vitamins like vitamin-D, proteins, salt and sun light and exercise it would be useful.

Yoga is useful
to avoid Back pain
Dr. Sherley Tellas
Director, Patanjali Yogapeeth, Haridwar

Back Before we discuss something aboutproject pain, we should know about a which is related to this issue.
unique project is taken up to study the problems in back pain in Yoga research centre, Patanjali Yogapeeth in the name of 'Back pain trial.' This project is being conducted by Patanjali Yogapeeth, Haridwar, Bharat (www.divyayoga.com) with collaboration of Yoga Bio Medical Trust, Great Britain (www.yogatherapy.org). This project is sponsored by Patanjali Yogapeeth. Dr. Scientist Robin Monaro, of Great Britain is leading the project. The prime goal of this project is to know the problems and tracking changes who suffer with back pain / waist pain in their vertebral column. For this purpose we have selected a group of people between the age group of 20- 45 years. These are the residents of rudki, near Haridwar. To all of the participants that participate in the evaluative experiment would be given free treatment. Some researchers held an Internet-based test (CALBA) through the Department of Yoga Research. Dr. Robin monaro examined the waist, back of the patients himself. Some of the researchers conducted through psychological tests. And some of them used analog scale to calibrate back pain and pressure. In this evaluation the breathing of stomach, back bend is measured. After conducting the calibration, we conducted (at least to 100 members) MRI test. We divided the participants in two groups. One of the groups is Yoga group and another is a controlled group. Now we are conducting special training sessions for Yoga group in free. And also some separate training programme is conducted for the control group especially. Now let us talk about back

Research based article

pain / pain properties. In fact, back pain is pain in vertebra. The pain may occur in the back bones, bone joints and also in other parts. In recent years, back pain / pain in the waist is seen in youngsters also. Back pain may occur in the back, in between, below vertebra. This pain may also happen in hips and legs. Waist pain is known to most of the people as back pain. This pain occurs in the bottom of the back. A person may feel sudden pain while lifting weights. Some of the causes of back pain (1) most common cause is pressure in back, this happens due to the lifting of heavy luggage. (2) And some other factors, these may be classified as emphasis on muscles, spinal joints, etc. according to the problem. Back Pain / waist pain can be classified in this way. (1) Horrible pain - Sudden twinge of pain comes momentarily and reduces within a short time all by itself. Generally it cures in a few days / weeks. (2) Chronic pain-the pain suffers a person for almost three months. This is a periodic pain. What is the cause of this pain and how does it suffer a person etc. things are purely depending upon the situation. Sudden pain in the back or bottom, middle comes slowly. In fact, the network connecting the head with the spine, pelvis and vertebrae is known as spinal cord. It is made up of 33 spines are involved in the structure. The following are incorporated as part of its bones. Spinal Cord is united with each and every spine of the vertebrae. The movement of vertebra happens for this reason. There are two important things. 1. weighing body weight. 2. Giving protection for spinal column. A cushion like arrangement is there in between the two spines. These are called intervertebral disk Each of the disc has a soft jelly in its center. And it is called pulposus. The disc contains 80% of water. It has malleability. A disk which is connected with a spine in its top and below forms an intervertible joint together. This will help spinal joints. Disc malleability is healthy and has spring like action. The disc has 8590% of water in the first disk. But due to some deficiencies, this level is declined to 65%. This time we could discuss the waist pain and its causes, symptoms. and how to get rid of from this acute pain through Yoga therapy will be known in the next article.

human being's thought develops depending on what he eats and accordingly, his personality grows. Here is an episode from the epic Mahabharata. In the battlefield, Arjuna has injured Bhishma and he was lying on the bed of arrows, waiting for the death to come. Yudhishthira was hearing sermons and religious discourses from him. In the meantime, Draupadi raised a complicated question. She said `pitamaha`, I have a question to ask? Pitamaha said- Ask any question without any hesitation. She again said first I seek an apology from you as the question is complicated, but he reassured to ask anything fearlessly. She asked, grandfather, when in full public view Dushasana was taking off my `saree` and stripping, I kept mourning and asking for help. And you were also present in the senate beside other dignitaries but none including you come for my help. What happened to your knowledge and wisdom that time? Bhishma grew serious. The question has not been put before him for the first time. When the

Acharya Satyanand `Naishthik`

incident had happened, similar question had scared him. And now Draupadi has asked clearly. Bhishma said, daughter you are right. The fact is that I was consuming Duryodhana's food laced with sin. This corrupted my mind and soul. I could see the injustice but failed to stop it. I wished to prevent it but could not muster courage. The sinful meal has suppressed my truthful soul. Draupadi asked, then why that knowledge has come out now? Bhimshma said Daughter, the arrows of Arjuna has taken out all dirty blood, which had effect of Duryodhan's sin. Now my conscience has reborn. Hence now I have come out of the influence of Duryodhana.

Erectile dysfunction
cause and treatment
Dr O P Varma, MBBS, MRSS (London
modern days, the problem of erectile dysfunction has increased in males because of our lifestyle, changes in diet and lack of Omega-3 in food.

I n

he inability of penis to expand fully and maintain erection during sexual performance is called erectile dysfunction. The cause of inability is- diabetes, high blood pressure, medicines (of blood pressure and depression). It is such a disease on which open debates are seldom held. It is a fact that feeling of being uncomfortable and making it personal leaves a chance of bringing consciousness against the bad effects of this disease. We hesitate discussing sex-related issues. Probably, we relate sex to pornography. While pornography is vulgar, distorted and disgusted crime, sex, on the other hand, is spontaneous, natural, comfortable and natureadorned important physical, mental and spiritual process. It is our supreme duty towards building a civil society. There should be full discussion on sex-related issues, problems and its solution. It becomes important now-a-days as this disease is taking into its grip the youngsters. The skin of penis is highly specific, sensitive, highly loose and flexible so that it doesnt feel stretched during erection. The flexibility of skin is maintained by sex hormones. The penis of a human being is made of three blocks of spongy tissue. The penis is made up of three main areas- two large chambers on the top called Corpora Cavernosa and one smaller chamber on the bottom,

Corpus Spongiosum. The tough, thick and strong fibrous layer of connective tissue that surrounds the corpora cavernosa of the penis is Tunica albuginea. The urinary tract passes through Corpus Spongiosum. Bucks facia connects all three layers of the penis. There is covering outside this, which is called Colles fascia. The enlarged and nut- sized Corpus Spongiosum is called Shishnmund (penis head), which is protected by foreskin. The foreskin is made of double layer and if it is drawn back, shishmund can be seen. The, the vertex of shishnmund is last point of urinary tract. It is used both for urination and sperm ejaculation. Testis is where the spermatozoa are generated and Epididymis is the storage place for the sperm cells. The ejaculation path of the sperm is formed by the two vas deferens-

ejaculatory ducts and the urethra. The ejaculatory duct refers to the canal that goes through the prostate into the urethra. REASONS OF ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION Generally, erection depends upon the symmetry of factors like hormone, neurology, blood circulation and cavernosal. Often, there are several factors working in erectile dysfunction. 1] Hurt or disease in penis, peyronies disease 2] Medicines- treatment of diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and depression make a person impotent. 3] Chronic disease- Diabetes, High blood pressure, Uncontrolled lipid profile, Kidney failure, Liver disease and use of multiple drugs 4] Distorted lifestyle- Smoking and Drinking 5] Artery disease- Diabetes, High blood pressure and use of multiple drugs 6] Nerve related disease- Hurt in Medulla spinalis, Hurt in Bladder or Urology, Multiple Sclirosis, Stroke etc. 7] Hormone- Less flow of Testosterone and Prolactin increase When touched, pressurized, thought, smelled or recalled, eroticism takes place and penis erects, then there is flow of Nonadrenergic noncholinergic vasodilator mechanisms and veins start flowing nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is an active element and this enzyme activates cytoplasm guanile cycleage, which converts GTP into cGMP. The cGMP activates protein kinease. Specifically, the release of nitric oxide in the corpora cavernosa relaxes the smooth muscles. At the same time the artery to the penis widen to twice its diameter, increasing the blood flow sixteen-fold, and the veins which carry blood away from the penis are blocked. As a

Modern lifestyle and diet and urge to avail comfort have given us some disease, against which the society shies away from discussing.

result, the two spongy-tissue chambers in the shaft of the penis fill with blood and the penis becomes firm. The corpora cavernosa, acting like a sponge, fill with blood. In fact, the corpora absorb up to eight times more blood than when the penis is flaccid. As your penis swells and lengthens, the filled corpora cavernosa press against the veins. The veins surrounding the chambers are squeezed almost completely shut by this pressure. The veins are unable to drain blood out of the penis and so the penis becomes rigid and erect. This condition normally keeps this erection firm enough for intercourse. After ejaculation, arteries and spongy tissues become loose and blood filled in cavernosa goes out. This makes penis loose. In the last, phosphodiestrage-5 (PDES) converts cGMP into GMP. TREATMENT For last five years, Sildenafil (Viagra), Tadafil, Verdenafil and many more medicines are being campaigned as the magical medicine for treatment of erectile dysfunction. They deactivate enzyme PDE-5, which converts cGMP, that is responsible for erection, into GMP. Thus the penis remains erected. The companies are earning good money out of these medicines. One of the companies had to pay fine for promoting their medicines illegally. But there are side-effects of these medicines too, which should be known to you. However, it is warned for heart patients taking nitrate not to consume these drugs. The consumption of this drug lessens the amount of oxygen in the heart, heartbeat starts varying and this defect remains even after the effect of drug is over. There is blood flow in the lungs. There is a possibility of friend of this patient getting affected with the infection. The consumption of these drugs makes a person deaf. The most dangerous

There are many medicines in Ayurveda to treat erectile dysfunction like Sheelajit, Ashvagandha, Shatavari, Keshar, White Musli, Jinco Biloba, Jinseng etc. Sheelajit has multiple benefits. Besides erectile dysfunction, it treats high blood pressure, diabetes and obesity. In addition, it rejuvenates kidney, urinary tract and reproductive organs.

side-effect is that the person using these drugs dies while copulating. You may recall that between March, 1998 to July, 1998, 69 drug-users had died in America. In 90s, the medical practitioners had invented an injection to treat erectile dysfunction. MUSE FOR AMUSEMENT This treatment was developed in 1997. In this, Alprostedil (PGE 1) of rice shaped amount is inserted into the penis through the hole of shishnmund. Now, pressing the penis enables the spread of drug into whole area. The penis, thus, gets erected in 10 minutes and it remains for 30 to 60 minutes. The side-effect of its use is- like penis getting curved or sudden lessening of blood pressure. Works of artificial penis transplantation are also being done, which can be fatal at times. AYURVEDIC TREATMENT There are many medicines in Ayurveda to treat erectile dysfunction like Sheelajit, Ashvagandha, Shatavari, Keshar, White Musli, Jinco Biloba, Jinseng etc. Sheelajit has multiple benefits. Besides erectile dysfunction, it treats high blood pressure, diabetes and obesity. In addition, it rejuvenates kidney, urinary tract and reproductive organs. Take into account the following things: 1] Keep diabetes and blood pressure under control. This would ensure proper conduct of nerves and veins, which, in turn, would maintain the sex power. 2] Diabetes patients should keep themselves away from tobacco use and smoking. Tobacco squeezes veins and prevents them from carrying blood properly. 3] Avoid drinking. It deteriorates

sex power in diabetes patients and harms veins. 4] Perform yoga and meditation. Conduct morning walk. This would ensure you healthy and tension-free. Avoid working late night. Go to bed on time and have adequate sleep. Get yourself massaged with herbal oil once a week. If you are obese, try to lose your weight. 5] Keep the environment of your house vibrant and comfortable. Avoid hot, spicy, fried food items. Avoid constipation.

Linseed
Linseed treats erectile dysfunctional and other defects like quick ejaculation, less eroticism, impotence and miscarriage. Linseed is superior and safest among other treatments. You only have to take 30 grams daily. 6] Linseed makes your body attractive, soft, spotless and fair. Your hair becomes black, silky and dense. 7] Linseed makes your body energetic, fleshy and strong. The body will be active and no tension and fatigue would prevail. The mind becomes peaceful and positive. 8] Linseed, with the presence of Omega-3 fat, Zinc and Magnesium, helps in the excretion of testosterone hormone and quality pheromone. 9] Linseed increases blood flow which helps erection of penis. Besides, it develops quality and dynamic sperm. In addition, it rejuvenates veins and help in carry out of information and emotions perfectly. Lecithin, Vitamin B group, Beta carotene, Follett and copper present in linseed keep the nerves healthy. Omega-3 fat, Selenium and Zinc prostate present in linseed controls of quick ejaculation and help formation of testosterone and sperm.

If you wish to point out mistakes, then cast an eye on yourself. When you just see others mistakes, your conscience weakens but when you improve yourself after pointing out your own mistakes, your conscience strengthens.

knowledge, happiness, unity and peace. The Captain of a ship, facing more tornadoes, storms and other difficulties grew more knowledgeable and competent. A person, facing more troubles in the life becomes more mature and complete. The land toiled and dug, grew more fertile. If the branches of a tree are cut regularly, it grows stronger and taller. More the gold is placed in fireplace, more it is purified. In different era great personalities like Ram, Krishna, Buddha, Mahavir, Abrahim, Musa, Christ, Mohammed, Nanak and Wahaullah took incarnation and all faced troubles and problems in their life. But it did not deter them from path of truth and justice. When a seed or sapling, sacrificed its existence, it grew into a strong tree. Here is a beautiful saying. Be liberal when rich and obliged in trouble. Win trust of your neighbor and always deal them with happiness and friendliness. Carry the role of lamp for those in darkness, pleasure for those in pity, ocean for thirsty, shelter for shelter less and defender for victims. Feel existence of god in all human and other living beings in the world and behave accordingly.

It is rightly said that a person's sacrifice could better the society. Seed becomes nonexistent to transform into a tree. Modesty and politeness make a person great. History is evidence that our great personalities always followed right path and their conduct has always been appreciated.

Ayurveda Sira Vedha (Venipuncture) a unique way of treatment

G
ained great popularity in ancient times. Every being was living a happy and peaceful life using this natural therapy. Our sages also have unfolded its multifaceted advantages over the ages. A person who is physically ill feels weakness. And then disease gains control over the patient, crumbling the energy of senses, leave him to fit for nothing. And some times the disease becomes so dangerous that patient dies with it. Consequently, the modern therapeutic approach is divided into various sections to address the suffering with different kinds of ailments, offering special kinds of healing processes to normalize a large variety of problems. There were 8 separate units in the ancient times for the treatment in Ayurveda. They are known as 1. Salya 2. Salakya 3. kaaya 4. Bhuta Vidya 5. Kaumaara Bhritya 6. Agada tantra 7. Rasaayana Tantra 8. Vajikarana Tantra. Maharishi Susruta was acquainted with the heart of Ayurveda treatment. Ayurveda has gained so much reputation through the ages because of their theories and experiments are supported with the facts ! Our ancient saints brought them into existence for the sake of human welfare. Indian Sage Maharishi susruta, who was also a 'Salya karta' (plastic surgeon) , performed surgeries. Modern era treads so much unknown fields of theraptic development in medicinal field, still this ancient treatment of susruta SAMHITA proves to be most powerful and wonderful!

Ayurveda

Vein (Blood vessels) is responsible for blood circulation to all limbs in the whole body. If the bad blood is out, disease may get pacified. If Venipuncture is formed in the early stage of leprosy and let out the blood through proper treatment Then leprosy can be cured in the early stage. Venipuncture is needed to a healthy person also so that he may prevent the skin diseases, tumor disorders, blood related diseases.

The major purpose of Ayurveda

'Svasthasya svasthya raksanamaturasya vikara prasamanam cha' means to protect the health, and relieve the patient from disease is the main aim of Ayurveda. First of all, let us know about Venipuncture', piercing into veins in this brilliant treatment. If we Look for an extensive description of the body in the eighth chapter of susruta SAMHITA Venipuncture is described like this. Ex-adhatala: sira vyadha vyakhyasyamalah yadhovaca Bhagwan dhanvantarilah Sira's vedhanam (piercing into vein) is known as 'Venipuncture'. A patient needs to get relief from the bad blood due to Raktaja and vatadi errors. In

that case 'Venipuncture' is required. A Patient who has been suffering from fever for a long time, gets complete benefit of Venipuncture.. Due to the blood gets vatadi (airy) errors mental diseases are may occur. In the mental disorders like hysteria, epilepsy, arrogance, appetite, fainting, chest pain it becomes necessary to get Venipuncture. . Vein (Blood vessels) is responsible for blood circulation to all limbs in the whole body. If the bad blood is out, disease may get pacified. If Venipuncture is formed in the early stage of leprosy and let out the blood through proper treatment, then leprosy can be cured in the early stage. Venipuncture is needed to a healthy person also so that he may prevent the skin diseases, tumor disorders, blood related diseases. 'Seetoshna snigdha rukshadwvairupakrantaswyayegada lah Samyak sadhyanasidhyati sakti jaan taan vibhavayet.' If treatment is given using cold, heat, gluey and hard medicines still the disease has not come under control, we should know that the disease belongs to blood defects. In those cases also

Venipuncture should be preferred. The doctors who are specialists for treating tumors, spleen, etc. may continue their practice of medicine in treating diseases using their methods to remove the bad blood. In the previous Yoga camps Venipuncture provided excellent results. Patients suffer with sciatica disease also could walk immediately. Suffering is removed so quickly. Time to do Venipuncture is also described like thisThe sky should be free from clouds. Temperature in Winter should be moderate. In Summer Venipuncture can be done in morning and evening. If there are more errors, rakta mokshana (activity of blood ousting) should be done more times. The fat which is present in muscles can completely be removed. In the remaining places vedha can be done to the half of the vein. Blood would come out in black or red color, we should know that the blood contains vayu (Air) Dosha (error), If blood color is blue or yellow, that blood contains bile error and if the blood is in light white and light red it contains phlegm error, if all the three doshas exist, then it is in saffron color. The detailed description is seen about Siravedha or Venipuncture treatment covering half of the chapter in Salya Tantra like Body treatment and basti treatment. The situation of not healing properly and side effects In colic, headache, eye disease, blindness, vascular disease, metallic corrosion, aksepam, paralysation, mouth paralysis, paralyse in one limb, gasping sobs, bronchitis, shortness of breath, if the patient does not get proper healing, the patient dies in venipuncture. Other benefits of blood visravanam Raktadhikye rakta moksham pade va lalaatake. Kartaryo rakta rogeshu kushthinam ca viseshatalah. If more blood is available in patient, Venipuncture can be done in arms / legs / forehead without disturbing the key place. Blood pressure reduces with blood moksana. Toxic substances (toxins) in blood would also be reduced. According to susruta the location of Venipuncture should be like this- leg pain (pada daha), pada harsa, chip, visarpi (ericipelas), vata blood, Eczema (eczema), bevayi (pada dari) for these illnesses Venipuncture should be done two inches above the ankle. Core of Kshipra lies between the Thumb and fourth finger both in hands and legs. In filarial disease Venipuncture should be done between thumb and ankles. In Pain in knees, Khanja, the disease that comes in the vertebral end and for vata - related pains Venipuncture should be performed four inches above the leg ankle. For indigestion Venipuncture should be done two

inches below the Indra vasti core (marma pradesh) For gridhrasi(sciatica) Venipuncture should be done four inches below/over the knee. In throat disease throat swells. Venipuncture should be done below the thigh of the knee. In this way, Venipuncture should be done in two hands and legs. In Spleen disease Venipuncture should be done near the karpura joint of the left shoulder or between the area of little finger (kanisthika) and second (anonymous) finger. Thus Venipuncture is done in diseases that are related with liver, stomach and right shoulder. In vishwabhachi disease also Venipuncture should be done in the same process that suggested for sciatica. Parivartika, upadansa (syphilis), aphrodisiac and sperm cell related diseases Venipuncture should be done in penis, adjacent to the development of testicles. In dropsy (udakodaram) Venipuncture should be done below the navel and in sivani (suturally) left side of it. In dadhi and in parshwa sula left side and in the centre of the breast, In Bahusosha and Avabahuka diseases, Venipuncture must be on the left side. In chill fevers that comes in alternate days, Venipuncture should be done in the centre joint of trika sandhi. In fevers that come once in two days, Venipuncture should be done in Skandha joint. In apasmara (fainting) Venipuncture should be performed in centre joint of hanu. For Hysteria in between the neck, Santa, in joints, chest and in fore head are the Venipuncture positions. For tongue and dental diseases the vein region is under the of tongue and in ear related problems above the ear, and if the problem is related to the nose, tip of nose are Venipuncture points. For Nyctalopia, eyerelated diseases Venipuncture positions are close to the nose and veins on fore head. Venipuncture should be performed in vein related diseases like Sirarog (Vein disease) and adhi mandha Venipuncture can be done on these people - Ajanata griheete tu sashtri kaaya nipatite, Bhavanti vyaparashwa bhetaahavashwapupadravalah.(Susrutadr saritadr 8 / 21) Salya-karma (surgery) should not be performed by an unskilled person who did not learn susruta SAMHITA through a direct Guru. If he takes the surgical instrument and pierces the body of a patient, the latter is put into a great trouble. Even the patient may die. So this education should be learnt through Guru for good performance. In yunani therapeutic approach also there is an outline description about Venipuncture, which is one of the most prominent methods in medicinal practices, in ancient times. This is treatment is done through drive out the bad blood. This is an age-old treatment.

The sky should be free from clouds. Temperature in Winter should be moderate. In Summer Venipuncture can be done in morning and evening. If there are more errors, rakta mokshana (activity of blood ousting) should be done more times. The fat which is present in muscles can completely be removed. Rigvediya yagna at Patanjali Yogpeeth -Swami Ramdev

`Vedas` at the core of our culture - Swami Ramdev Work in the interest of the nation with yoga, spiritualism and Ayurveda Demons were defeated by deities Accept Sanskrit and Culture
Haridwar. Vedas have been a source of inspiration, progress and development in ancient India but now we are sidelining and forgetting Vedas and its language Sanskrit. Our nation had vast and rich tradition of economics, Vedic and knowledge. Vedas are the core of our culture. Knowledge is strongest in the universe and all other developments come behind it. And the core of knowledge is Veda. The `richas` of Vedas are rich with immense knowledge. On the occasion of `Rigvediya yagna` performed at Patanjali Yogpeeth, Baba Ramdev was discussing with media. He said that Vedas are the divine gift to mankind. In old times, saints and holy men had knowledge of Vedas. They could recite scores of mantras, without referring book. The knowledge of Vedas is very important for our life. Veda mantras have immense knowledge. He said that India and Indian culture are the best in the world. The basic behind our culture is Veda. In the universe knowledge is the highest. Knowledge is the source of progress. He informed that on the occasion of Navratri, honorable Acharyaji is performing yagna as in ancient time yagna help defeating demon and evil forces. He said that he has immense faith in the judicial system. The decision of honorable High Court has defeated the ill-intension of the Government and CBI. He prayed for the atmosphere of brotherhood and peace in the nation. Swamiji said fire gives energy and yagna also generates positive energy.

Memorandum to President Corruption hollowing the nation as cancer -Swami Ramdev

Work in nation's interest with yoga, spiritualism and Ayurveda. In battle between god and demons, latter has always been defeated. Move towards Sanskriti (culture) and Sanskrit.
Haridwar. Yoga Rishi Swami Ramdev submitted a memorandum to honorable President and urged her to put an effective check on corruption, which is eating into the vitals of the nation as cancer. He said that the internal economical system and deposition of black money of worth Rs 400 lakh crore in foreign banks is a great cause of concern. He underlined the need of domestic legal system, replacing British system. He urged for new economic revolution, free and equal education system in Indian languages inculcating our culture and partnership of village men, poor labor, peasants in power and budget based on their population besides honest valuation of their labor so that economic justice could be imparted to all. He said that it is very painful to say that for a model administrative system, Government needs to take concrete steps but when Government fails to deliver, holy persons, social activists and common man come forward to raise the issues of social concern. The constitution has given right to every citizen to raise the issues of national interest. But when any person of the society or organization raises its voice related to black money, corruption or issues related to change in system, peacefully, democratically and constitutionally, he is subjected to harassment. The Government, misusing its power been granted by the Constitution, label false charges on the persons struggling against black money and corruption and defame them, hatching a conspiracy. The Government agencies charge falsely and threaten them. The Government is violating basic civic rights, suppressing public agitations.

He urged to work for the nation, keeping yoga, Ayurveda and spiritualism at the core. He said that entire world could be enlightened with knowledge in India. He said that in war between demons and god, evil forces have always been defeated. He gave thanks to honorable High Court for the decision. He said that he has always cooperated with the law and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He said that the fight against corruption and black money would be fought in society while legal battle would be contested in court. Swamiji said that Acharyaji had vowed to perform `Rigvediya` yagna. Though, some troubles emerged but ultimately good forces emerged victorious. He said that yagna on Shivratri is very auspicious work though Lord Shiva is present in each particle in the universe.

Nationalist forces would struggle together for system change -Swami Ramdev
New Delhi. Baba Ramdev reached Ramlila ground to extend support to Anna Hazare, agitating for Jan Lokpal bill. Swami Ramdev said that the logjam for Lokpal bill shall come to an end. After Jan Lokpal bill is cleared, all the nationalist forces would join hands and launch a shared campaign for a long battle for change in existing system. He said that the second phase of Bharat Swabhiman yatra would begin from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh in which Anna Hazare has assured to give full support. He said that in an hour long meeting with Anna, he saw a strong dedication and commitment in him, which could be a source of inspiration to the youths. He said that Hazare's campaign would ultimately benefit the entire country. While referring to the Police action at his own agitation at Ramlila Ground, he said that due to his protest afterwards, the Police posse has not reached here. The social worker Medha Patkar said that she would not appeal Hazare to end fast as he is a true fighter and would end agitation, when he thinks right.

It is victory of Dainik Jagran democracy Baba Ramdev

Haridwar. The day-long Parliament proceedings on Jan Lokpal bill was a victory of democracy. He said it is the result of Anna's struggle and urged him to withdraw the agitation. While addressing a press conference at Patanjali Yogpeeth, he said that in Anna's agitation the first person to sit on stir was a Bharat Swabhiman Trust worker. He was Arun Das of Oddisha, who was on agitation since past eight days. When asked about the debate on Anna's Lokpal in Parliament, he said that the public strength is the real strength of democracy. He said that it is wrong to say that mob opinion is not part of democracy. He insisted that mob opinion turns into democracy later. Surprisingly, he appreciated the Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi and said that he also supports his statement that Lokpal be brought under the constitution, making relevant changes. He clarified that the struggle has to continue for long as consensus has been drawn on three points only. He also clarified that Lokpal would not be able to uproot corruption from the system and the fight against corruption would be lengthy. He said that it is just a beginning for which he gave thanks to all political parties, common man and Anna and appreciated their efforts.

Government conspiring to crush public agitations -Swamiji

Bharat Swabhiman would launch nation-side agitation in the national interest Token fast at Bharat Swabhiman headquarters, Haridwar.
Haridwar. Yogrishi Swami Ramdevji Maharaj said that it is a matter of sorrow that whenever any nationalist person launches an agitation in the interest of the nation, the Government conspires to crush it. False allegations are hurled to defame and suppress an agitation with good motive whether it the agitation launched by Anna Hazare or by Baba Ramdev. The central Government and Delhi Police, in most undemocratic manner arrested Ramdev supporters in a mid-night swoop. He called on the people to register strong protest, whenever the Government stoop so low and hurl baseless charges against nationalist people and groups. He said that no religion is bigger than the national religion and no god is bigger than the country. He said that nation's interest is the supreme. Swami Ramdev said that he is dedicating all his life, wealth and health for the sake of the nation. He reiterated that the nation is independent but it was just transformation of power. On August 15, 1947 it was just transfer of power and that time too, Mountbatten and the then Prime Minister had an agreement that India would continue to be governed by British system only. British people handed over the power but still we are slaves to them as no change in educational, medical and other systems has been introduced. It is most unfortunate that after over six decades of independence, our own language has not been established. Swamiji said that the nation has economic, social, political and spiritual challenges. Many big problems have assumed very serious dimensions including corruption, black money and rotten system. Over 400 lakh crore Indian currency is deposited in foreign banks. The economy of Europe and America is in shambles. Thus, there is strong need to launch non-violent and peaceful agitation demanding bringing back the black money from foreign nations. He said that to oppose wrong policies in peaceful manner is the fundamental right of each citizen and organization. Bharat Swabhiman, under the guidance of Swami Ramdev would hold a nationwide protest opposing suppression of right to expression by the Government of India. Swamiji would also submit a memorandum to the President demanding restoration of democratic and constitutional rights of the common man. A day-long token fast was observed in Patanjali Yogpeeth to register its protest.

Ganga's oath taken to end corruption

Swamiji's rally against corruption and black money
