objective from the course of study or ODE Academic Content Standards; b. Prior knowledge/skills required by students? c. Connection how does the lesson objective connect with previous and future lessons/learning? a. The student will Develop a process in which to think about and apply current events into their art making. What is important to them as an individual as well as society? The student will become aware of art movements in history that were affected by social events. The student will research an art movement effected by social events and write about it. Students will understand collage and how to apply social issues to collage making. The student will make a collage using photos of their own or photos they find in other places. The student will participate in a critique regarding their own works and the works of peers. The student will participate in showing their works in a professional manner. ODE STANDARDS-Grade 9 Historical, cultural and Social Contexts-1, 2. Creative expression and communication-2, 3, 4, 5. Analyzing and responding-2, 4, 5. Connections, relationships and applications-1. b. Prior skills necessary-How to research and basic cutting and gluing. c. connection to previous or future lessons-this is part of our social issues unit-recycled art was 1st. There will be more to follow.

2. Assessment (Pre & Post) - How and when will you evaluate the objective and student learning? Attach a
copy of the assessment/rubric instrument you will use.

PRE: while making presentation to class, I will be asking for feedback, asking critical questions and encouraging students in thinking about social issues today. I will assess what they know about in the news today? I will go directly to a news site and we will go through some articles that are about todays top issues. POST: Class participation during initial class presentation. Subject that student chooses shows careful consideration. Photos chosen for the project/collage reflect what the student is trying to communicate. Collage reflects understanding of what a collage is and reflects skills used. 1 page written summary shows the student understands the project and explains their own project well. Critique participation. Showing of work in a professional manner. 3. Methods/Strategies a. What teaching methods will you use (e.g. teacher presentation, demonstration,
simulation, role playing, peer teaching, laboratory activity, etc.); Type of learning: Inductive/inquiry questioning for student discovery or deductive/direct modeling)? while making presentation to class, I will be asking for

be class discussion and individual work until critique. There may be grouping for display of artwork.

Equipment and Material - What instructional equipment and materials are required to help students reach the objectives (e.g. textbook, lab equipment, technology, activity sheet, CD-ROM, Web Site, etc.)? Computer, projector, internet. Artcyclopedia.com, CNN.com, etc. Art history books to be available. Computer lab for student research. 6. Instructional Delivery a. Introduction (e.g. motivate, elicit student interest, review past learning, background in topic; Communicate expectations, procedures required for the lesson.) presentation to class, I will be asking for feedback, asking critical questions and encouraging students in thinking about social issues today. I will assess what they know about in the news today? I will go directly to a news site and we will go through some articles that are about todays top issues. Stimulate discussion in this way. Expectations will be provided in writing and during the introduction. Possible rubric.

This will be connected with Social Issues Unit. d. Practice and/or Assessment - Guided, independent; Help with initial steps and monitor; Corrections, reteach if necessary. This will be independent with guidance as needed. I will be monitoring class as they work.

you? What would you do differently next time? Re-teaching or Intervention required? Did the assessment instrument measure intended student learning? If no, what are some alternatives?
