HISTORY
INDIAN CONSTITUTION IS THE SUPREME LAW OF INDIA.

THE CONSTITUTION WAS ENACTED BY THECONSTITUTE ASSEMBLYON 26 NOVEMBER 1949, & CAME INTO EFFECT ON26 JANUARY 1950.

THE DATE 26 JANUARY WAS CHOSEN TO COMMOMRATE THE PURNA SWARAJ DECALERATION OF INDEPANDANCEIN 1930. Click to edit Master subtitle style THE MAJORITY OF THEINDIAN SUBCONTINENT WAS UNDER BRITISH COLONIAL RULEFROM 1858 TO 1947.

THIS PERIOD SWA THE GRADUAL RISE OF THE INDIAN INDEPENDANCE MOVEMENT TO GAIN INDEPENDENCE FROM FOREIGN RULE. THE FOUNDER OF THE INDIAN CONSTITUTION WAS DR. BHEEMRAO AMBEDAKER. 5/24/12

CONSTITUTION ASSEMBLY
The Constitution was drafted by the Constituent Assembly, which was elected by the elected members of the provincial assemblies. Sanjay Phakey,Jawaharlal Nehru, C. On the 14 August 1947 meeting of the Assembly, a proposal for forming various committees was presented. Such committees included a Committee on Fundamental Rights, the Union Powers Committee and Union Constitution Committee. On 29 August 1947, the Drafting Committee was appointed, withDr Ambedkaras the Chairman along with six other members assisted by a constitutional advisor.
