Rabbi Dov Lipman is an educator, author and community activist who lives in Bet Shemesh, Israel with his

wife and four children. He emerged as an internationally known figure defending the girls of the Orot School from religious extremists even in the face of threats of physical harm. He has also become a leader in fighting for the rights of Ethiopian immigrants and other minorities in Bet Shemesh. Rabbi Lipman has rabbinic ordination from the Ner Israel Rabbinical College and a Masters in Education from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He is the Director of the English Speakers Division of the Am Shalem movement which seeks to combat extremism and religious coercion, and will be a candidate for Knesset in the next elections.
