    A bit of History: The goal of the experiment : How the electric and magnetic fields impact an electron beam.

    Experimentally determines the Charge to mass ratio of an electron

    Reason: Mass of electron is so small that it cannot be measures directly therefore the charge to mass ratio is needed to calculate it.

    Invention: It is an experiment in the field of mass spectrometry (todays uses). Discovered by:
