IFTA RESEARCH & STRATEGIC ANALYSIS DEPARTMENT

The Independent Film & Television Alliance (IFTA) is the trade association serving the worldwide
independent film and television industry. The Research Assistant will be an integral part of a research
team that is responsible for providing research services and analysis that both drives the strategic
direction of the organization and supports the business operations of 180 member companies involved
in the financing, production and distribution of independent films and television product.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Write reports and research-related articles for IFTA publications.

2) Assist in the design and execution of departmental surveys and research projects.
3) Analyze and interpret information from multiple data sources applying both quantitative and
qualitative methods.

4) Develop and maintain information sources in assigned overseas territories.

5) Perform other research related and departmental administrative duties as required.

The Research Assistant will report to the Vice President of Research & Strategic Analysis.
Requirements
Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have a BA (preferred majors include International Relations, Sociology
or other social science) and up to 2 years research experience. The Research Assistant must be a
motivated self-starter who is a flexible “team player” able to take direction with the ability to manage
multiple tasks. Exceptional research, writing, analysis, and organizational skills are a must as is
proficiency in Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint. Foreign language skills are a plus.
