Completed in 1913, The Anxious Journey is one of De Chirico’s early paintings. With its palette of grey, cark greens and back, the environment is foreboding, atsters-looking archways suggeste af a prison or a labyrinth. Within, the sense of space and death is inaccurate, fractured, mace flat.
